Stunning photo and awesome report, Jim! I was concerned that banana would take the whole thing over, so I'm glad the tangerine balances it all out once you bring in the AS :D

Thank you, Joe! That's so cool that at 9 years of age your son can whip up a bowl of lather :D

Thanks, Joseph! once I've tried every blade in my sample, I'll give them one more shot, but if they even hint at performing the same way, I'm swapping the blade out and chucking the tuck into the round filing cabinet ;)

Same thing with the Gillette Super Thins.

Wonderful photo and report, Clint! Fougere on top of a sandalwood base is an intriguing idea--sounds amazing :D

    Thank you, Tim!

Three hours since my shave and the aftershave has morphed a bit. The citrus has faded and the coconut has come forward which I haven't picked up at all until now. The banana has come out again as well. Very nice and not overly sweet like the scent directly off the puck.

Stirling SS and AS - Barbershop
    Simpson Trafalgar T3 Synthetic
    Puma 89 - PUMA Special

Wow....here's my embarrassment for an image with no caffeine infusion, 6am available light (night stand lamp). :ashamed001: Tilted kilters phone and all!

Shave much better than the image.....awesome bowl and face lathering fragrance from Stirling's Barbershop SS and the Simpson T3. Rich and yogurty bliss. My first straight razor....a supreme favorite with it's hair scaringly sharp edge, that just lives forever with stropping. It's the absolute smoothest shaver of my handful of full hollow Solingen steel blades; only half hollow or near wedge options I have compare. 2 passes for a near BBS, only a slight touch up on the lower right neck added to put it in the bag. Finished with the matching Stirling Barbershop AS, one of my favorite barbershop blends. Slight irritation from this blend on the cheeks, so I confine it to a brief splash, but neck is no problem (it gets a double dose :bounce015: so I can enjoy it all day)!

Hope everyone has a Wonderful Hump Day!

Something just wasn't quite right about my shave this morning with Stoylin Sandpiper soap&A.S. And that's a crying shame(loud baby cry), as Sandpiper is my favorite Stoylin. Maybe I should have spent more time squeezing the brush dry(or moist at least), as it was a little too wet going in(to the soap). That's happened before though, it gets drier before the second pass, and it did this time, too. 4 weepers(they weren't bad enough to be cuts)in the usual places. As a matter of fact, I was feeling a little better about the shave until the first weeper. This would have been me doing a video("Well,. now things are getting better. I...HEYY!"). All things considered though, it was a good shave, but I've done much better with previous Stoylin shaves. Fairly Excellent.

Just the sight of that bird on the cover(Boat Drinks)makes me want to give it some consideration.

That's a fine shave Paul! There is the dry and the wet method in lathering the face. The dry method is the more conventional one where you wring out the excess water before loading the puck, starting with a pasty lather and finally adding increments of water. The wet method is not wringing the brush. It gets quite messy. The initial lather is super wet and thus you have to add soap until you get the lather that is suitable to you. So, in your case, you should've added more soap to get that good Stirling lather.
