When you originally showed me the listing there was two left ..... then tonight I saw there was only one left .... so I had to get it. When they first came out, I heard people complain about poor alignment, but that was 8 years ago and recently I've heard only great reviews.
I wax and wane on the forum, but have found myself looking for inspiration again in the shaving hobby within the current stay-at-home context. I honestly cannot recall when I last changed the blade in my SlimTwist/Knack...those rumours of blade longevity turned out to be true in my case. Anyhow, rambling back to inspiration in the shaving world and this forum, I find myself looking, as usual, at @Enrico 's work on brushes. So...I threw a bid on a red/white rubberset that happened to come with a few bonuses. I actually only wanted the brush! I'm not sure where shipping is at these days so I may have to wait on a knot, but I am sure looking forward to a new project.
Saw this English 1956 Gillette Tech with an interesting colored case, which in @mr-razor's site the case is blue. And got it being the second bidder.............
Nice haul ........... An American Aristocrat a Super Speed and ..... is that a British Aristocrat Jr?
The case is what made me keep an eye on it. I was worried because it had a bunch of watchers, but they weren't around.............
Cici at the factory assures me that my 100pcs Gold Monkey 666 and 100pcs Gold Dollar 208 will be on the plane tomorrow. However she has a history of more assuring than delivering. We'll see. If it ships tomorrow it will be a Covid19 record fast ship from China. I had to threaten to cancel and Alibaba is pretty good about that when the supplier does not ship by the agreed deadline. I still have two orders, 20pcs and 40pcs GD66 from my former favorite reseller sitting in some dusty warehouse in China and the ebay shipping estimated delivery date is this coming Tuesday. Grrrrrrr China. I want to order some silvertip knots but meh. Not right now.
As a very early Father’s Day gift; my mother bought for me a 1958 D1 gold Gillette Toggle with the case.
