  1. Another beautiful photo and set up, Mark--love that SS Blackbird :D

  2. Great report, Paul! Shame about the weepers, but as you pointed out: it's still a Sandpiper shave (which make everything better than it would have been otherwise :D)

  3. :signs011: :D

  4. Awesome report, photo, and gear, Jason--with one obvious exception ;)). I can't say I'm pleased to hear the results, but I am glad to have a bit more intel on the Super Thins. Sounds exactly like my experience with them; the chin was so much work. I'll probably pass these blades on to my boys, who seem to be able to shave with just about anything.

  5. My packaging appears to be in French.

BTW, that Red Tip is in phenomenal shape--stunning!

  6. Gorgeous gear and photo, Gary--I was wondering which of all the Gillettes you liked on a practical, shaving level. Now I know. From what I've read, it seems like a lot of folks agree with you :D

  7. So far they (and Voskhod) have been the most consistently sharp/smooth performers in my sample pack. I'm a one-blade-at-a-time kind of guy, so I'll probably take note of which ones worked the best for me, and then buy 100 of whatever blade was least expensive ;)

  8. The Blue Angels just flew by our house on the way to the Community Hospital a few miles away--awesome! :D
  9. Darned straight! You just gotta be more cagey. ;) :happy102:

  10. Thanks, Gary!
That picture is from No Repeat November. I was even doing my best to color coordinate blade packaging.
    Terrific shave and picture!

  11. Awesome shave and report Clint!
  12. That's quite true. The scent remained(and is still remaining).
  13. So I picked this one up at the store today. Been hearing people talk about it for a long time now. Thought I’d try it out. Almost reminds me of brut, but I’ll give it a shot with my next shave. Heard this has menthol in it, so I’ll pair it up with my proraso green. If I find it to be better than aquavelva I’ll be surprised. 0C302ABB-7DEA-4D7D-B65F-968DB9E80ADD.jpeg

Razor: Wade & Butcher 13/16 “Bow”
Brush: Leo Frilot Custom NYR 26 mm Synthetic
    Lather: Proraso Sandalwood
    Aftershave: Floid Genuine
    Additional Care:
    Barbero Alum Block
Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
    Chatillon Lux Santal Auster EdT

Finished off the sample of the Proraso. I do happen to Louie the Sandalwood scent. As a mater of fact, the sample of the CL Santal Auster is a phenomenal scent to cap off a great shave. I continue to get subtle reminders of it’s presence throughout my day.

The WB razor performed flawlessly. It easily glided over and mowed down the wishers. I probably could have gotten away with a two pass shave, however, I enjoy the process
and the concentration of the three pass shave. My shave time is like my zen time to me.

    Have a great day gentlemen.
  15. Great review of the new scent, Jim. Even though it isn't important at all, I'm glad to see Stirling get back to some original cartoon artwork on the tub- Haven't seen it much lately since the MITA, Ozark, Barbershop, Mountain Man days.

  16. The Occam's is great, the brush is a stunner and the soap scent sounds nice, Clint, but the relief carving on that tabletop (?) is stealing the show in your pic for me.

  17.
  18. Very nice, Joe. The razor scales and the brush handle. look like they were made for one another. Like you, I enjoy a 3 pass shave as well.

  19. Yes, a very cool hobby indeed, Evan. Your spray bottle work was masterful as well...:)

  20. Great shave, Joe!
    Thanks, Jason.

I like the cartoon artwork too. Another plus with so many different colors it leaves the field wide open for brush options.
