Stirling Executive Man was a little clinical smelling to me. Could have been the batch from which my AS bottle was from. Mine PIF’d to Danny.

PAA Doppelgänger Grey Label is quite nose friendly. It, like almost every example I have from PAA, lasts quite a long while, many into the afternoon, some longer. They do specifically mix, label and market their after shaves as near cologne strength. Only Lavender and Citrus forward fragrances fade before lunch, which is longer than many similar AS from other artisans/manufacturers. I realize I sound like a PAA salesman...but it is how PAA works for my nose and body chemistry with fragrances compared to others.

Third shave with this razor and I can report that I am not anemic.
I can also report that this razor in my hands presents more challenges than any straight razor I own.
I made a concerted effort to shave today with the shallowest angle possible. When I kept the cap on my skin, a suction ensued which created a semi-drag. So I was compelled to lift the head ever so slightly. Too much and I began to scrape, which btw I must have done yesterday, because I did have some irritation on my cheeks.
There is a very small “window” of best angle and maintaining it along the curves of your face is challenging.
Today I left the shave after one and a half passes, resulting in a barely
DFS shave. Finished the Shave with what now is yet another scent which SWMBO has deemed no good. I am batting 1.000 with my Chiseled Face products. ​

Moved the Thai (?) Gillette Thin over to the Jaws to see if I liked it any better. I don't usually give a lot of credence to blades working in some razors and not others, but do obviously have favourite combos. Thought I would give this a try regardless. Pulled out my CH2 as they've been getting lots of love on here lately- this is my only one, with the original ivory coloured handle and sticker askew. Whipped up the usual outstanding SV lather. No denying the quality of this knot. This Colonia isn't my favourite SV scent, but is pleasant enough.
After 3 passes, my opinion of this Super Thin hasn't really changed. Smooth where hair isn't dense and tough, tuggy where it is. It just doesn't like the tougher parts of my beard. I'm smooth enough, but don't enjoy the blade enough to use the rest of the tuck.

Honestly in my opinion, I prefer the looks of the old style mug vs the new one. The lid cover definitely protected the soap’s scent better then mug on the right with the newer red lid. Both original old spice pucks seen here still have their good scent to them, but the one on the left is definitely stronger. My point being is, don’t always go for the new os soaps, just because they are newer and expect to have a strong scent. You might be better off buying an older mug of soap, just because the lid was better at sealing off the soap vs the new lids on the new pucks. This will be the focus on next up coming months, to see how well this new soap handles.

Fine Platinum is also a nice Aventus dupe. I find mine quite strongly scented. If you can find the older pucks without the useless tub, they are also very fairly priced.
