Wonderful looking shave especially that brush. I am looking forward to busting out the Satsuma next week.
Sorry about the blood. I am looking forward to your final thoughts at the end of the month. Do we stick with safety razors or not. That is the question. Also I would love input on perhaps improving the design. Mind you I really tried to just have it so only the blade is involved. You are a trooper for trying this out for me. Tom
May 14th Razor: Valet Autostrop Blade: Feather FHS (13) Brush: MrEE Aluminum 24mm PS: Proraso Green SS: MLS Colonia Di Agrumi AS: Proraso Green Again I'm really enjoying the VAS. I'm still getting good shaves after my edge refresh. Stropping does seem to extend blade life. Well, I think it does. I've never tried to shave with an FHS beyond 4-3 pass shaves. I'm getting pretty good at the 2 pass shave with a hybrid XTG/ATG 2nd pass. DFS again. I decided I want to kill the MLS Colonia Di Agrumi. Not that I'll use it every time, but I will use it more often until it's gone. I want something new and my soap shelf is full. So, I figure I'll allow myself to buy another when the MLS is gone. Regarding my homemade blade. I did decide to spend yesterday running errands and spend the evening with my family. It was needed. I'm off work tomorrow so I plan to put in a few hours finishing my test/learning piece. My goal was to make a blade I can shave with this month. The test piece looks good so far. All I need to do is grind it a little thinner and put an edge on it and I'm ready to shave. Yes, I understand that's like saying all I need to do to end world hunger is feed everyone. I understand the hardest steps are still ahead, but hopefully, the success will continue. I was worried I wouldn't get this far. I did order a piece of thinker 1095 stock so I can make a full 1-inch blade. Again, I may be overly optimistic. Thanks for all the comments. I have beem reading them even if I have not responded. I'm hoping to get involved in the conversation again this weekend. I do enjoy being a part of 30DC.
Thank you Joe! Everytime I bring out the brush, the members always give glowing remarks about it. It is my most aesthethetically pleasing brush in my den, but my Jayarah #386 is my top performer with this C-Mon right behind it.
I hope so for your sake. Is it me or are the CF puck covers different than they used to be, in that you can now read the features of each soap. I don't recall being able to read the features of the GTB.
