Thanks Tim! I always believe to go to the deep end of the pool when you are able. Paua is a New Zealand Maori word for abalone. So, it is kind of neat to have a different scale material than bone, acrylic or wood.

When I was a kid, my mom has some abalone/mother of pearl pieces of jewelry that I found absolutely fascinating--looking at the iridescence was like witnessing magic--I still really love that look.

May 15, 2020 Gillette 1947 SS Gillette 7 O’clock Black Romera Olivewood Synthetic Fine Aquamarine Shave Soap & Aftershave Mixing things up again today. Brought out one of my favorite vintage Gillette razors, the 1947 Super Speed. The Fine Aquamarine soap works great as would be expected for a Fine soap. The scent opens with citrus top notes over a base that does smell aquatic. Three passes and touch ups ended in a drama free BBS shave. The matching aftershave has a stronger hit of citrus over the same base. I really like the scent but like most scents of this type, I don't see it lasting very long through the day.
