Gladly I am not in position for a new razor, but Ii don't understand why Gillette is not trying to make a real comeback to safety razors. Not like that they are some start up company that needs to make a Kickstarter to even start a production. They are the behemoth of shaving world. So why not make something cool, like full brass safety razor, or new adjustable razor....No, let's just make a handle, buy a top cap and base plate in Germany and call it a day.
Non Heritage King C Gillette Most Walgreens, the Walgreens/CVS had the exclusive King C Gillette contract at one point now just the shavers as I see King C Gillette at most Walmart's for all but the shaver/blades because few people come into a Walmart looking for a Safe-T-Shaver/double edge shaver. I have read on Bager & Bear site the King C Gillette non heritage model is one of the cheaper Stainless Steel models with a cheaper nickel/chrome plating in the level of material for the non-heritage model. Not sure on the heritage model but that looks nicer. King C Gillette blades are rather good but due to most being Chinese made they are thinner and will die quicker. I do believe King C Gillette does the touch up work and laser engraves in the USA then machines box them up in USA but because of where the blade is made they could not legally call it made in USA, only call the blades assembled in USA of foreign parts. Some of the older original models of King C Gillette were not labeled as the company tried to make it in commercials on TV/online seem like the blades were made in USA. I only know as I bought the blades in 2020 when they were only on the market for about 1 month and still exclusive to Walgreens/CVS.I might still have some in a pack with my 2017 Persona as I took them out of the package to put in the case to keep the case from being too loose despite having to use a strap on the 2020 package to hold it together because part of the top flap broke. Also, before the introduction of the King C Gillette, places like Walgreens had their own better blades that were very similar to some higher quality Chinese blades that came in the same closed style dispenser case with the dead blade part on the backside that were not bad rather close to a wider Personna blade, but the blades rusted up easier than most other Stainless Steel blades according to my dad.
Or worse with the King C Gillette other model made in 2020 and later just buying the model in China and without even a head cover.
