    Shavette Shave #71

    Gear
    • Razor: Max Headroom Focus R21 Shavette
    • Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium--I’ve heard good things about these, but the cost/unobtanium factor has kept me from ever bothering to try them. Cuts like a Feather, but soooo smooth. I get it now. Almost wish I’d never tried them. I’ve read that these have been discontinued, but I just can’t see how that could possibly be true.
    • Brush: Stirling Finest Badger--think I’ve gotten the hang of this brush now :D
    • Soap: Stirling Texas on Fire (chilled with ice water, 6 Frost Drops added)
    • Menthol: Stirling Frost Drops
    • AS: Avon Wild Country & Clubman Original (2 Frost Drops added)
    • Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented

    The Shave
3 pass shave today: WTG, XTG, and ATG. I don’t think any parent wakes up and says, “I think I’ll run after my child today.” Likewise, I had no intention of chasing the baby, but the Super Iridiums were so smooth that I just kept going and going. Seems like when that happens I start to ignore good lather management and shave and reshave (and re-reshave) areas without applying additional lather. When I finally realized what I was doing, I dropped everything and cleaned up.

All of my face is BBS, and because I threw in the towel before I could touch up the neck, I’d say I’m somewhere in between BBS and DFS. For all my unlathered shaving touch ups, I came away fairly unscathed with just a bit of warmth on my upper lip. Definitely got lucky there ;)

Hope the rest of your day is awesome! :D

    71 down, 29 to go!
  2. I’m not feeling particularly heartened, Tim! I’m told that it has a reputation as a mild shaver. Mild may be overestimating it’s shaving ability! I may try to cut down a Feather Super if the Proline doesn’t work.
  3. Great shave, Tim! Both Polsilvers and Wizamets are almost identically sharp and smooth.
  4. awesome shavr and pic Tim.i will say .some soaps will hide everything..oil on glass..
  5. Gonna have to go by my written word still, I'm afraid.
  6. ok ,will do..:)
  7. Thanks Tim! I have been on vacation since the middle of March! Every day is the same. Lol! I don't know what is going to happen this upcoming school year. Substitutes are always the last the know.
  8. I am so glad that I maintain a clean-shaven look above the shoulders.
  9. If I am not mistaken, then I would say this was your best shavette shave. Bravo Tim!
  10. very good sir. i like the trimmed goatee these days..my mood changes..:)
  11. Thank You Jim!

Thanks Joe! Can't wait to see the ones on your new 65 BD Order....looks like they will POP quite well in some images!

Thanks so much Gary! BTW...cool haircut.

Sincerely appreciate the kind words Patrick!

    Thank You Jim!

    Awww shux, :o Thanks Joseph!

    Thank you Jeff!

    Thanks so much Joe!

Sincerely appreciated Clint! I was trying to give the CH2 craftsmanship it's due today!
  12. thank you Blair..:)
Norcalnewb, 9nein9, clint64 and 2 others like this.
  13. Awesome shave today Tim! The countdown seems to be going faster doesn't it!?! There is no spoon......
  14. I had the goat and the full beard, but it's a pain to maintain them. I would always screw up the lines so that it wasn't symmetrical.
  15. Thanks Blair! I expect it sometime around late fall based on his 3-6 months window on his website.
  16. thankfully my goatee fits the contours ,not a forced fit.pretty easy to maintain.especially with the trimmer.lucky that way.i almost feel like i look weird without it.had it so long.i was clean shaven for a number of years but..:)..again mood changes..
  17. Well, my beard is on the whiter side of salt and pepper so I keep it off to appear much more youthful. My glasses hide some of my wrinkles as well. Lol!
  18. very cool..did you notice my goatee is near white.was red..i do get that..:)..ear hair is my new friend..:D
  19. Wow, Tim! You're doing great! Congrats!
  20. Lovely photo and shave Tim. Congrats on the continued progress. You will soon be at 100
