  2. I knew it would, Clint. :)
Soft out of the gate and only gets softer but never loses its backbone. The PERFECT boar knot.
  3. Very thorough report Jeff. I am sure you will figure out how to get the most out of this razor. The splash probably brought a nice closure to a somewhat mundane shave with the razor/blade combination. Good luck tomorrow.
  4. I just don't know....perhaps too much pressure on what turned out to be a shaving cream soap(as opposed to shave soap). It was the first SECOND of the first pass.

  5. Fabulous shaveJoe. I love my boar brushes. The boar whipped up a nice Williams lather for me as well. I am not familiar with this version of Aramis.
  6. Wednesday May 20th SOTD

Delayed post from this morning's shave post ER night shift. I was really tired and just went to bed afterward. It was a wonderful 3 pass shave - the Hawk V3 OC took down 3 days of growth admirably. My face still feels nice. Happy shaves all.

  7. And now Tim as you can see in SOTD, I just changed my mind. Not because of the Bill Neumann, but some very warm days are coming up-time for the cool stuff.

  9. awesome shave and pic Joseph..good afternoon..
  10. You were right. I think the Mondial boar might be the perfect balance of diameter, loft and softness

    Old School Classic Shave.

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Double Duck Goldenedge
Brush: Jayruh 410 with Omega #48 Boar
    Lather: Williams Mug Soap
Aftershave: Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue
    Additional Care:
    Barbero Alum Block
Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Prior to my morning workout, I added some water to Williams mug soap in my alter-ego mug “Grumpy”.

The @Jayruh Boar#410, recently acquired, whipped up a thick lather in the bowl following a 20-25 second load.
I opted to use a straight for this shave. Most times when I use the Williams soap the razor of choice is a DE or SE.

The Double Duck was due up next in the straight razor rotation. Despite of being concern with the slickness factor or the Williams when compared with some of the other artisan soaps that I use, the razor soap combination gave me a wonderful three pass shave without an incidents of cuts, weepers or irritation. A great three pass shave.

The alum block affirmed the quality of this shave with its silent approval.

The witch hazel, AV and balm were the icing on a fabulous iced water shave. I was feeling and smelling good for my trip to school to clean out some things from my work area.
