  2. Thanks Clint!
  3. Arkadia is in my top three Stirling scents--alas, a little too heavy for the Missus' tastes, but a fantastic scent nonetheless. My sister loves it as well, and always insists I get her some bar soap any time I place an order with Stirling. Couldn't tell you about the AS, but if it is anything at all like the soap it will be pretty darned awesome :D
  4. Fantastic shave Clint! I love broiling pork chops. Unfortunately, my store was out of them.

  5. Thank you, Clint--I think the rest of the shaves this week will be stick-to-the-plan shaves. ;)

Stirling SS and AS - Barbershop
    Drew Dick 5/8
    Darwin 2 band badger
Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Star Jelly ASB

Two very busy days! Between hauling elderly dad around for 2 doctor visits, my wife around for a extended office visit (colonoscopy), getting a new roof installed (& having to micro manage that to be sure the contract items are follow), plus 7-9 hour work days....just not enough time yesterday and today to read/post. Same setup both days to keep life a little simpler!

Between this Darwin badger and Stirling's shave soap, no problems, awesome rich lather and aroma. Mixed bowl/face application. This Drew Dick is almost like shaving with a DE blade...it's micro thin, the grind only reveals the spine the last ~20% of the blade's width. Super light, incredibly audible shaver. For those who haven't seen this razor before, this blade is very thin/flexible, care and super attention required just for stropping, as you can see/feel it flex. It flexes while shaving. Shaving with it is fun though, handles much like a shavette or kamisori. Blade width is narrow and allows me to shave while 'riding the spine'. 3 passes both yesterday and today, super DFS+ results. One or two small weepers, no biggie, no distraction. About a teaspoon of PAA's Star Jelly.....followed with a thorough dousing of Stirling's awesome aroma'd Barbershop, and both days went off with 'no news is good news' for all the doctor visits.

Hope everyone has a great rest of the afternoon/evening!
  8. Great setup, pic, and shave Blair!

  9. Beautiful photo, fantastic shave, and awesome report, Clint! That Cobra is in full-on stealth mode the way it's reflecting all those greens--a slick touch :D

  10. Sorry to hear about the cut. At least you've got your good looks--I only have the cuts ;)
  11. Thank you, Joe! It's getting easier now. The downside, though, is with the increased confidence comes increased pressure if I'm not very mindful. It's disturbing how easily I fall into that one bad habit if I forget to think about it.

  12. Man, that's a beautiful set up, Blair--that Drew Dick sounds like a Ferrari-esque shaver! :D
Hope things start to settle down for you a bit; that's a lot to get done, and not very many hours in the day to do it all. Glad to hear that the shaves (and especially the doctor visits) fell into the no-news category!
  13. fine shave and pic Joe..
  14. I do understand because I am so comfortable with a straight razor that I sonetimes catch myself letting my focus go astray. This phenomenon gets stronger with more experience and you have to guard against it. You have to use your muscle memory to control the amount of pressure on your skin.
  15. fine shave and pic Tim..
  16. thank you Jim, good evening..
  17. Awesome, Blair! Everything, awesome!
  18. thank you Clint,good evening..
