  1. Thanks. It's a 28mm hole. I didn't order it that way it was already drilled for a 26mm knot. Fortunately it was drilled to the perfect depth to set the knot just like it was in the Trafalgar handle.

  2. I would suggest getting a honed gold dollar as a backup razor, just in case you muck up the edge of your first razor. I believe Razor Emporium still sells them for approx 40 dollars.

  4. Gary, look at post 5202 and you would see that we agree.
  5. You did a great job on the knot transplant.
  6. Lovely shave, Maestro! Love that Rubberset! Pristine!
  7. Tim, looks like the blades were testing your intestinal fortitude so to speak. Glad you hung with it. Hopefully tomorrow’s shave will be more enjoyable.
  8. Today, I decided to look at my Dovo Special straight's edge. I used it over a week ago and it felt scratchy. It seems that it has a chip on the edge so I am going to have to set the bevel. I may have hit it on something and didn't realize it. Oh well, I just ordered the 15, 9 and 5 micron films from Specialized Products.
  9. i agree.if straights are your game one needs to be prepped..:)..can't just drop another blade in..

Proraso Single Line - Shave Cream, After Shave Balm, Cologne - Wood & Spice
    Omega EVO
    Feather AC DX (kamisori style)
    Schick Proline

Early shave...just getting to post. Great Proraso setup today, super slick, lather slinging fun from the over loaded Omega EVO synthetic brush and the Single Line SC. This brush is a new acquisition, a BST purchase. My other Omega EVO (plain oval handle) is now up for a knot sacrifice. 3 super easy passes from the Feather AC DX loaded with a Proline blade on it's 2nd use. For those thinking the razor is a bit odd looking....I removed the scales, and wrapped the handle with corded leather. DFS+ results, zero issues to report.

Proraso's Single Line is a shaving line specific for open blade shaves. Targeted to barbers I think, as the shave cream is literally shipped in a white 'bag', ready to put in a large dispenser they sell. I just transferred contents to a couple empty containers. The matching aftershave balm is very nice, not heavy or greasy. Great face feel, much like PAA's Star Jelly. The same fragrance cologne.....quiet nice. All three products are aptly named...tons of 'mixed' wood sawdust aroma, with plenty of peppery 'spice' to match.

Hope everyone had a great Friday, and has a great weekend!

  13. I like what you did with wrapping a leather cord to make it look like a real kamisori. Great shave Blair!
