  1. I think more than luck is involved. I'd rather look to muscle memory. You're certainly building it with your shavette discipline.

  2. Shaving while on the phone?! Sounds to me you got this shavette thing down. What's next, shaving while washing the car?
    Thank you, Jeff.
Any day off of work is a good day.

  5. No shave today, really hot and started the day out running around at hardware store and more measurements for the roof . Be some glad when its finally on.
Stopped at another hardware store in the afternoon for a good deal on grass seed ( for after the roof is on ) and pick up some more hardware on the cheap. 13 bucks apiece for fiberglass handled and very rugged . Just what I needed since I bought 2 new ones last month. Seems I wear them out without a couple years so never hurts to have backup.

  12. The Merry Mixed Up Month of May!

    May 25

Razor - Gillette New LC (Delta Echo)
    Blade - [IMG]
    Soap - Stirling Black Ice
Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom w/ TSD Grade A Silvertip
    Post - Alum

I hope you all had a great day today as we celebrated Memorial Day here in the U.S. We managed a picnic and a walk in between thunderstorms so all's well around here. Back to the grind tomorrow so a great shave was in order. I stayed with the New LC and Rapira Swede and, because it's MENTHOL MONDAY, went with Stirling Black Ice. The Wolf Whiskers brush did a luxurious job of face lathering and that black licorice scent is awesome. Three passes to a BBS and I'm all set for the morning. Have a great evening and a terrific Tuesday!

  14. Jason. I had Rod George make the handle from a design he had posted on FB and his website. The brush made by Brent Jacobson,

Below is a custom razor I had Rod make as a 60th birthday gift for my brother. That brush is a collaborative effort between Rod and Leo Frilot.

  20. I will be shaving tomorrow evening and it will be my budget shave. It will be using my most inexpensive razor, brush, and artisan soap. Although Williams is my most inexpensive soap, I didn't want to use it, thus stating the least expensive artisan soap in my list. By default, my one balm is Nivea. It still is keeping with my Modern May theme. Now, I want to present the same one budget shave challenge to anyone that wants to take it on. You are to use, your least expensive razor, soap, brush, aftershave and/or balm. The total price for the items should ideally be no more than 50 dollars. For some of you, that may be difficult so I will say no more than 60 dollars. If you do accept the challenge, then you are to list the items and what you paid for them and give the total. If you don't remember the exact prices, then give your best approximation and round to the nearest dollar. I have been on this site for awhile and haven't seen anybody do or suggest it. I thought it would be interesting to see if you guys can get great shaves with the least expensive items in your den. My total price for tomorrow's budget shave is 44 dollars. I will give the itemized prices tomorrow.
