  2. Thank you Tim! It just proves that technique trumps tools. However, I do like nice things, but I have to be a good steward with my finances.

  9. I have a hunch that the blades in most carts are not very good. So you have to press hard and/or increase strokes.

I've also read that many shavers in the habit of those quick unlathered repeat swipes are making a couple of hundred actual shave strokes in which 60-70% are unlathered. People should not wonder why beards are popular.

Feather makes a couple cartridge razors (2 & 3 blades). One of these days I might buy some out of curiosity. I've read reviews where cart guys say there is nothing in the class with them.
  10. Beautiful!

  17. Thank you, Jeff. I would add this regarding the razor, it's often times misrepresented as a razor that won't shave "tough" beards, because it is too "mild". Fact is, those saying such things simply don't know how to find the proper shaving angle.

  18. Fine shave this morning, but I'm afraid the Top Of The World Excellent streak ends at 3. 53 short of DiMaggio's hitting streak record. At the beginning, I couldn't accomplish what I had accomplished just 24 hours earlier, and had to bloom the soap via a quick run of the sink tap water. And yes.....REAL quick. It was another one of my "Boy, I'm gonna need that second pass" shaves. As a result, I produced 2 weepers around the chin, but neither led to any trouble, they just "showed up". 2nd pass was much better-drier. Generally successful on both face and neck. Man, that Stoylin Glacial Lime is gooood for these days! I know I implied that just yesterday, but there it is again. I could "cheat" and go with Super Duper, but I'll be honest and say it was a Most Excellent shave.
  19. Thank you, Jim. No doubt the Glacial Lime AS will stay with the Razorock Lime soap.

  20. Thanks Joe! I have 4 handles from Heritage Collections. 3 were ordered with their options for knots. A HMW Gel Tip, a silver tip, and a 2 band badger. My blue/black 3 step handle with the 2 band badger is the only knot that will be kept.

The HC HMW Gel Tip option was in this handle. Never was a fan, the only knot I've ever considered a true lather hog, with the HC silvertip close behind it. This handle has also been a problem child, it split apart between the black and green halves while using. Unfortunately it isn't replaceable (the green lettering on black was a once only/custom option). I was able to reglue the halves with super glue gel.

The Omega EVO knot will make it a keeper for sure.
