  1. I have been watching a vintage restored ever ready brush that is on eBay. the seller replaced the original brush knot and put in a beautiful synthetic knot. If i decide to go for it I'll put some pics up on here with the first shave. not exactly sure what year the brush was made in. I assume 50s or 60s
  2. Fantastic photo and set up, Joseph--the spiced lime sounds wonderful! :D

    The Shave
3 passes--WTG, XTG, ATG. The boar whipped up an amazing “super goop” lather, and is one of the few brushes that I can consistently super goop when loading/lathering in a bowl. Lot’s of chilly, sweet and smokey lather today.

All passes went swimmingly: low pressure, no blood, no repeat strokes, no touch ups, no irritation, and almost a BBS shave… but not quite. Works for me :)

Enjoy the rest of that Thursday, Folks! :D

    79 down, 21 to go!

St. James of London SC and AS Gel - Black Pepper & Lime
Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Switchback 400 w/TGN 24mm 2 band badger
    J3Customs Kamisori
    Nautica EdT - Latitude Longitude

Started off with an incredible bowl lather from the PAA 400 clone loaded up with a TGN 2 band. Have read some great things about the St. James of London shave creams, so I've loaded up with samples of every SC/ASG fragrance available. It definitely lived up to the reviews I read in every way, supremely awesome slick & thick voluminous fragrant yogurty face nourishing goodness. Quick to lather, loves hydration. Color me impressed. Only downside....the samples come in one time use cardboard coated packaging...and my daily images happen after I shave, so it was destroyed. Maybe I'll rearrange image timing for remaining samples. Superb 3 pass BBS shave from this beefy kami, still with lather left over, so it went on the face while I cleaned the tools. Small application of their matching after shave gel, equally nice, reminds me of SV's after shave balms. This AS gel is not alcohol based, it's a slightly cloudy/clearish liquid. Not heavy or greasy, great face feel still happening, now 8+ hours after this morning's shave. Followed with a now near unobtanium gift from wifey, Nautica Lat/Long EdT. Easily her favorite fragrance, still many years later.

Hope everyone has a great remainder of Thursday!

  7. I don't remember if I posted this here on the 30 day thread, but I was a lucky bid winner over on ebay to this Large 8 oz bottle. I had won it last week but I should be getting it here by Saturday.
This particular bottle is from Christmas 1980. Still full unused

  12. Thanks, Jeff. No I didn't. The Ebay seller did and I think he did a great job. He polished it up and sold it to me with a badger knot. @Jayaruh installed the new boar knot for me.
  13. Thank you, Tim. It has a nice scent.

  16. That's a cool win Myles! And Thank You!

Thank You Jim! The St. James of London brand, at least from my interpretation/reading, seems to be a smaller artisan brand compared to ToBS, Truefitt & Hill, & others across the pond. It's pricier than US/Canadian artisans for sure though. Wanted to give the brand a proper spin...it seems to be popular (for it's slickness) with some in the open edge shaving crowd. Definitely agree.
  17. I apologize for the Shavette Fu post but its been a very long day. As usual some great posts, shaves and photos. @Terry good to see you posting again.
  18. Wow, that's an amazing photo and line up, Blair--Stirling offered a Black Pepper and Lime that I just missed getting before it went out of season, that scent profile just intrigues me. The SJoL sounds like an amazing cream! :D
  19. :thanks:
