The Merry Mixed Up Month of May!

    May 30

    Razor - The Wunderbar
    Blade - [IMG]
Soap - Stirling Fair Debonaire St. Louis 2018
    Brush - I*V10 Hybrid
    Post - Alum

I'm just going to finish out May with the Wunderbar and Sharp Star. No reason to break up a good thing with only a couple of shaves left, including tonight's. I pulled out the Fair Debonaire LE soap from 2018 here in STL and used the big hybrid I*V10 to make a glorious lather out of it. And, with that 50/50 boar/badger brush....man oh man that feels so good. Another two pass shave to BBS with this big, heavy slant razor and all's well in the Lou!

One more day to go. We've been a little slower this month but hey.....with the pandemic and everything else I get it. Thanks for all the great shaves and conversation up to this point and we have one more day to go! June will be up in the next 12 to 18 hours, so until then let's finish May with a bang!!

Went out to our spot at the lake today to build a deck on the RV. A productive day. I’m sure this will be my last shave of the Month. No Mayhem with this one though.
Two quick but pleasant passes. Everything worked as it should and I got nice results for 2 passes.

Okay Joe @Trigger, here is my budget shave:

Tech- $8 CDN/ $6 USD from a small town Alberta antique store. I didn’t feel guilty paying so little for this razor, I greatly overpaid for the vintage brass doorknobs my wife wanted at the same time...
    Palmolive- $2 USD
    Omega 10049- On sale for $11 CDN/ $8 USD
Florida Water- $29 CDN for 3 bottles. $7.25 USD for a bottle.

Grand Total = $23.25 USD plus the dime for the blade.

Great shave and report, Neal--I don't think I've seen Fair Debonaire. Blood on Steel, yes, but the FD has flown under my radar somehow.

It's encouraging to see such great kit for so little expense. Awesome photo and report, Jason--a lake day sounds just like what the doctor ordered! :D

    Last shave of this month.
    Same setup:
    Razorock JAWS, Gillette Rubie
Stirling synthetic brush, Haslinger Schafmilch, homemade aftershave

Today I did not bowl lather, but I tried face lathering (for the first time). If was a good experience, I am going to experiment this it in the future. But I think that applying soap directly to the face, instead of loading a brush, might be better for face lather. .......Dang it, I need a shave stick!

Thank you, gentlemen. I appreciate the kind words and prayers.

We're up early for a couple of appointments beginning at 7 a.m. today. Yes, even on a Sunday morning. :) I managed to get a fantastic two-pass shave with my Slim, 30 DC LE brush (I like it more everytime I use it) and Tabac, of course. It knocked off two days of growth like nobody's business.

    Have a fantastic Sunday!

I found a new focus for a week, TSD based brushes. The next six shaves will feature 4 brushes made by Jason @jtspartan and Tom White @twhite B-400. I am face lather and unless I am traveling or using a scuttle I always use this bowl made by Jason.

Today's shave: It is over 80 today so Electric Sheep is returned to the rotation. The Tom White had no problem whipping up the Sheep into an excellent lather. The Snail Forge razor did it's job but it is a tough one to photograph. If I catch the pattern in the steel then you can't see the detail in the scales and visa versa.

Thank you, Joe. At first the scent was "unusual", but I have since grown to really like it. Add in the fact that it's a magnificent product, and that's why it's at the top of my "cream list".

Beautiful collection of brushes, Keith. It's all the more cool, because they come from TSD members.

That’s a very cool theme Keith! Lots of awesome talent in that TSD gear. Great looking razor!

Love the brush Neal! Very cool setup.

Lake Day! Awesomeness. Very cool budget shave Jason!

I’m mostly a bowl latherer myself, as I usually shave every 24 hours. Face lathers are very nice when I end up shaving at 36+ hours. Great shave! Love the self enabling, several shave stick users here too!
