Honed up the Hillman, reworking the bevel on SG 2k-Snow White-Hakka-Suita-Nakayama, finishing with a full Mikawa Nagura progression and tomonagura slurries. Edge came up like a 1950’s sci-fi Martian laser phaser. Perfect shave with great tactile and audible feedback.

Well I did mention that B&M Tuesday is a favourite as is today’s soap of the day Seville! It is one of my fav barbershop scents. Just so good with a nice citrus kick. I stand by the statement I could use both exclusively but what fun would that be?!

Today’s razor the Merkur Mergress 500 or regular handle. I am not one for long handles and my Progress is also a regular handle version. Just a great razor and though some say the Mergress is superior to a Progress, I simply see it as a hot rodded version of the same.

Lovely two pass shave with a little buffing and DFS achieved. Not a lot of work for the Mergress today but still a thoroughly enjoyable shave. Quick spritz of Acqua di Parma Colonia Ezzenza and ready for the work week! Stay safe and enjoy your shaves!

GEMonday, June 1st 2020, Good morning to all!

Razor: Gem Featherweight Generation 1 - MFG 1950-52 Gen 2 1953-54 .Nice milder razor to break in a new blade!
Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE (1) Great blade IMO.
Soap: Razorock Irish Countryside- Mild scent with great lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi Rainbow brown whiskers(Mew) 26 mm- Very nice dense packed whiskers with soft tips with a good scrub.
Pre-shave: Brush wash my whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 3+ pickups.
Post shave: Razorock XXX with witch hazel + a small dollop of Nivea balm.
Results : CCS,DFS,BbS + minor irritation + 1 blemish weeper=Great shave with my Gem Generation 1 Featherweight razor.
