Ok, boys and girls and all the ships at sea, let's get this month started off around here. Oh wait...you already have!! Well I need to officially join the party so here you go. I decided to go vintage basic with my flare tip Superspeed. It's a 1959 birth year razor and every time I use it I'm reminded of just how good these razors are. No wonder Gillette sold a quadrillion of them. For the blade - I went back to the first blade I ever bought in bulk. The Astra Superior Platinum from Russia. This is still the blade I use for my head shaves. The Super Stainless blade is also out there as some of you have mentioned and shown today, but I prefer the platinum. You can't go wrong with this as a starter/basic blade.
Now, for the soap. I chose to go with Stirling Iced Pineapple because it is MENTHOL MONDAY after all. That, and I actually consider Stirling to be a "basic" soap based on its price. Its performance is way above basic level, which is why the price makes it such an incredible bargain! And, I used my Omega 10066 - the "Brush of Shame" in my den (I broke a no-buy to acquire it). Nothing shameful about how this little boar works though. It's awesome and it's inexpensive.
Loaded up the brush and made a great face lather. Every pass was smooth and effective and I finished with zero irritation, zero blood and a BBS to start the month. Before I leave in the morning I'll dash on some of the Veg to keep it basic and awesome for the day!
Nice start to the month and I hope you have a fantastic Tuesday!
