June 5, 2020 Rex Ambassador Gillette 7 O’clock Black Simpson CH2 Synthetic Asylum Colonia Shave Soap & Aftershave Happy Friday at last. Everything played well together for a drama free BBS three pass shave. I am off to the doctor for some blood work. I hope everyone has a great Friday.
June 5 SOTD: Razor: Razorock SS Lupo Blade: Polsilver Brush: PAA Peregrino Lather: Williams (Vintage) Aftershave: B&M Arctique It was nice to have a shave in my own house and bathroom this morning. We had a couple of puppies that were abandoned outside our house right at the start of the lock down a few months ago, and ended up keeping one of them. He sleeps in our closet, so I was not able to get a new set up ready last night. Again, the vintage Williams provided a wonderful lather, so I am not complaining. I have no idea how many shaves I have on this blade, but it is at least 14, and it is showing a little wear. I need to remember to swap it out at some point. I am hoping for an easy day, but I just saw a conference call request from one our west coast sites for late this afternoon. I hope it goes quickly. I hope everyone has a great day!
Nice, Jim! How fun to have a new puppy! I am surprised the kids didn't talk you into keeping them both. Pictures please! Good luck with the conference call. Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk
June 5th Proraso Pre-Shave - Red Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap Heritage Collection Klenzo - Omega EVO Knot Drew Dick Damascus - Green Kiritinite Proraso After Shave Balm Viktor Rolf - Spice Bomb Extreme Finally finished the knot transplant on the Omega EVO synthetic into the HC Klenzo handle.....the combo made fast work of the MWF into a wonderful lightly fragrant slick bowl overflowing lather. Added some extra face lathering and painting, sublime face feel. The Damascus blade swept away 24 hours of growth effortlessly, 2.5 passes, DFS+ results. Quick light application of Proraso's ASB (white/blue label) followed with another wifey gift (from 2019) and I'm all spiced up and ready for a Friday! Viktor Rolf's Spice Bomb Extreme....overloaded pepper, cinnamon, vanilla, spice (hints of bay rum and/or clove?). Some may liken it to a cooler temperature fragrance, but I doubt pirates cared.... Hope everyone has a Fantastic Friday!
Wonderful, Blair! The brush looks great and Spice bomb sounds fantastic! Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk
Real fine shave this morning. 0:25 to load the Acqua Shaving Cream Soap(Razorock)onto the Stoylin "li'l brudder". . Strong sweeping action across my face and neck. This soap never appears "thirsty" whereas its counterpart(that is, that I own)the Lime Burst always looks like a light green pancake. I did much better on that area I talked about yesterday(right side of neck, just below the jawline). No cuts, no weepers. Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue was the closer. Top Of The World Excellent.
Thanks, Andrew! I really like the brush. So much so I have another on the way. Awesome, Paul! Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk
Great shave and photo, Jim. I am sure it's good to be home. Although it's a shame the puppies were abandoned, I'm glad you were able to keep one.
That's a great photo and shave setup, Blair. The brush and razor match so well they look as though they were bought as a set!

Just the Basics June Fat Friday Shave '59 Gillette Fatboy (E4) Rapira Super Stainless (2) Jayaruh #314 Cocobolo Wood Badger Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap Adidas Dynamic Pulse Aftershave Wonderful Fat Friday shave this morning. The Wool Fat was slick as always and the Fatboy set on 5 and 7 made for an easy 2 pass DFS. The Jayaruh "Pi" brush is one of my favorites. I am not sure what scent components create this, but for my nose the drydown of the Adidas hints at the scent of La Toja aftershave (one of my favorites btw).
