  1. Excellent shave, Patrick! How's the Booster Polar Ice?
  2. Excellent score, Gary!
  3. I have one and it's a fine shaver. And it's stamped Gillette, AutoStrop Division
  4. Thanks Gary! And yes the steel should last 40 years they say. I'll be 90 then and won't give a crap at that age about who replaces it .
  5. Thanks Andrew! The Boosters is very refreshing and smells great . Dont think its alcohol based though.
  6. very cool, mine aren't stamped gillette because they are british made possibly or just missed the mark, but not bothered.just wanted one in nickel.price was right.$40 canadian shipped.not bothered about cases either.there are enough of those with rough razors in antique shops here.they never sell locally and i don't intend to become a serious valet collector..my vc 4 is a nice shaver.
  7. Looking good, Patrick!
    Nice, Gary!

My Simpson brush is at the local post office. Should have it tomorrow. With any luck I may get the new dubl duck from Heritage in tomorrow as well.

  8. That's good to know. I wouldn't expect an old school a/s to be without alcohol.
  9. very cool Jim,looking forward.i just poured more salt in the wound and bought more crap from england..:D..the wait..
  10. good on the rocks,five different flavors,big bottles..:D..
  11. The ones you just bought look really nice.
My VC3 was the 2nd AutoStrop I bought and I remember seeing the Gillette name on it after inspection and thinking, WTH is this? I didn't know the history at that point, but soon researched the matter.
  12. Thanks, Joe! Worked in research for 4 decades. It’s fun; I enjoy it.

  14. Are you sure that’s a VC3. Waits didn’t know of any.
  15. VC3 is special by the foldout "wings" that hold the blade in place. Same wings as in the VC4.

  17. I’m aware of that, Waits didn’t know of any nickel examples is what I meant. Sorry for any confusion.

  18. very cool.intersting history, valet initually took over gillette..my vc 4 was given to me with a gillette razor purchase.just because of the gillette stamp .was intended as a display piece.saw that feather blades drop right in so i figured why not try it.i don't have an interest in modding blades for them.feather's are good enough for my rare test drives.i have to keep my de razors in the front seat..:)..
  19. Gotcha.
