June 8 SOTD Good morning guys! Straight Shave #177 Dovo Special 5/8 Full Hollow Rd Pt Joe Elliot 4/8 Full Hollow Sq Pt JR #299 Synthetic Brush Proraso Green SS and AS Yesterday, I decided to start on a restoration project on this Joe Elliot vintage razor. It had a big chip located on the heel side. I never took a chip out and didn't look on how to do it, but as you can see it turned out fine. Now, I went through resetting the bevel and finished honing it so I decided to test shave it today. It's first pass was ok, but it definitely still needs some work so I would call it so-so. Hey, I didn't think that I could even shave with this thing. Lol! Anyway, I brought out my newly honed Dovo Special to finish the job. Let me just say that this razor shaves so beautifully. I got a BBS shave with 2.5 passes without irritation or blood. I really got my mustache really smooth by going WTG, XTG and finished with the Fool's Pass. I would say that I would put the shave against any professional barber. I still can't believe that I put such an edge on this razor. Oh yes, the brush and Proraso did it's usual great performance. Finished this fantastic shave with the Proraso Green. Man oh man, my grin is so wide. Have a great day guys!
Thank you, my friends. Today will be forever known as "Day 0" and Kathy's new birthday. The frozen stem cells will be prepared in a few minutes. I'll post some photos to the album this evening if you're interested. We'll be finished with the transplant late afternoon, and I think we'll both crash fairly early tonight. Other than the early start, it's an easier day than most over the last couple of weeks. I sincerely appreciate the prayers, kind words, and encouragement over these past few months.
I'm glad you got to spend some time with your kids! Sounds like a fantastic day. That's a memory to hold onto about your father. I'd have to say Polo Green cologne would be that memory I have of my dad - especially the car rides to church on Sundays.
