What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

I'm sorry I didn't have the time to make pictures.

One shave was with a Friedrich Herder 25 the other was with a Paul Serindat. Both great shaves.

I’m liking ‘big ugly’ a lot. Touched up the Rizarazor just enough to feel a new edge, and it was like shaving with your index finger except I’m now baby dolphin butt smooth. Cream and balm was IC Rhubarb, a Simpsons T3 two band did the mixing.

 

I am not sure what you did with 'big ugly,' but that is a beautiful straight razor in your pic.

My #1 favorite is my Greaves 5/8. It's the one that gets the most use due to the perfect weight and balance imo.
My second is my recently purchased Boker Edelweiss. it's a full 7/8 and definitely has some heft to it. I couldn't believe I actually found this as all I have ever seen is the 5/8. It has a little slight hone wear but it is probably pushing about 50 years or more.

Love the blade but would have to lose the scales if it was a daily driver... the weight just wants to rotate the blade into your face.

This morning was shave 114 with the Filly 14 Sub Cero.

Yesterday was one of the Rodgers pair, lovely razors. I had them in a generic dresser case that I’ve posted before, but I came across two other Rodgers in a much nicer case for not much money, the reason being that the blades were worn to junk and filthy, but the scales were ivory and not cracked. So I got them and my nice choppers have a nicer home.

The box itself is kind of interesting, the script is ‘T. Pelletts 62 High Holborn’ which is in London. It seems that Mr. Pellett was a box maker, and according to a Google Books scan of a newspaper/adverts, he had 3 exterior lamps ‘with irons’ for sale in 1871. There’s a ‘Joe the Juice’ there now I believe. It’s really nice to get a sense of history with old razors and their accessories.
