  1. That's quite possible! I know you can use a steeper angle of attack with a shavette than a straight. However, I am not saying to use a 45 degree angle with a shavette. Personally, I get good shaves with any razor in my collection. My two recently honed razors would surpass my other razors in efficiency and smoothness. However, everyone's shave standard, technique and razor type is a ymmv thing.

  11. I usually shave at the lowest angle I possibly can. Sometimes, so much that hair removal is reduced. In the end though, the result is about the same.

I think those new to traditional wetshaving often try to get too much, too soon. I know I did.

It is using this lowest angle style, that I find greater beard removal with replaceable blade tools on pass #1. By the time it is over, I'm always contented.

  12. Just the Basics June!

    June 13

Razor - Feather SS Artist Club (pain stick)
    Blade - [IMG]
    Soap - Proraso Green
Brush - Stirling Pro Style Synthetic
    Post - Alum

Staying another night with the Feather SS and Pro blade combo. Honestly, these blades will go a week or more before even showing the slightest sign of dulling down or dragging. Three days on a shave is nothing for them. To stay basic I grabbed my Proraso. This was my first real soap back in the day and I sometimes forget I have it around. It's like Arko. It just makes lather. Plain and simple. And with the basic Stirling synthetic brush it was effortless and quite nice to face lather. Three passes to complete another near-BBS and make my day perfect! Well, the shave part anyway. Enjoy your Sunday!

  13. SMN Peau d'Espagne is some powerful juice. It is cold weather favorite of mine.
  14. I have the same Shavette but mines the “CLASSIC SAMURAI “. It has a little Samurai logo on it. You have the stainless steel tear drop one right? Cause that’s the one I have. It’s great . Mine came with the half Derby Professional Blades. Lol (hate them) but this Shavette was actually the first item I ever bought when I got interested in Traditional WetShaving. My first Safety razor I bought was the Muhle R-41 lol goes to show you can start off with a bang if you want to ! Hope the Yakuza approves of My Ninja -likeSamurai Shavette!!!! image.jpg

  19. My dermatitis does not allow me to use this kind of products as normal way of shaving.
But I like this thread, so I want to join for today.
For me technique is what really help.
    Not just in wetshaving.

    This is a rookie-proof setup.
All products are cheap (in Italy) and easily available in dollar store and similar.
Just because of my skin disease (and my job), I've added just a touch of phar-magic.

A decent technique three pass shave, and It's for sure BBS !!!
And It won't break the bank account.
    :p
