    hello.

here is a decade that I returned to shaving with a DE.

I got my father's fatboy gillette.
I bought a rocket hd and a para, much better shaving than the fatboy.

I am thinking of starting a small collection of razors.
what models should we own, value and shave on.

    thank you

Lafayette, we are here! When it comes to razors, I like Merkur. Can’t go wrong.

Welcome from Oregon. There are so many razors to choose. It might be a good start if you collect any bargains you find, try them all and see if you have a preference for one type over another. You can then sell the types you do not like, a concentrate on the brands, styles and models you like.

Vintage razors are inexpensive, so experiment. I might suggest buying a "User Grade" one first, and if you really like it, buy one that is in much nicer condition.

Welcome @fred21 from here in western NY. Glad you decided to join us at TSD. As to what you should try out ..... Gillette Techs are very under rated and very inexpensive. I recently purchased a Merkur 34C and like it very much. A Schick Krona is great anytime razor (travel or at home). My last purchase was a Merkur bakelite and I really enjoy the shaves I've be getting from it.
