Had to be a great shave with Maximo Gomez. That stuff just smells so darn good Jason!

    Thanks, Joe! :D

I've got a Radiumite Co. straight, but it's not shave ready and probably won't be till August (some unexpected repairs on our car ate into our discretionary (read as 'fun') spending funds a few weeks back, and we slavishly stick to our budget ;)).

I also need to find a better strop; the one that came with the razor was evidently rolled up tightly when it was shipped, and the leather is all rippled--nothing I've tried seems to smooth it out. I'm pretty sure that strop will probably do more harm than good.

Still, delayed gratification is every bit as good as instant gratification--just a matter of a month, and I've discovered those go by pretty quickly :D

Beautiful photo and shave, Jason. I'd heard talk of the Goodwills here, but couldn't remember what they were about. Looked them up--kind of an interesting history :D

I was thinking much along those lines--I'm curious to see what the blades can do in a more efficient setting. I'll probably do that in some future moment of weakness ;)

    Thanks, Clint! :D

Oddly enough, the small amount of play in the blade seems to keep it from cutting--it's like you just keep scrapping over and over again; it's almost as if you're shaving at too shallow an angle. Instead of a blood bath, my concern is for its very real potential to be a burn bath (don't know if that's a thing, but I'm making it one now ;))

There is definitely play, but it's more like the blade is bending rather than moving, if that makes any sense. You can safely shave with it, but you'll have to do a lot more shaving than you otherwise would.

    Just the Basics June!

    June 16

Razor - Kai Captain (pain stick)
    Blade - [IMG]
    Soap - Tabac
    Brush - I*V16 Hybrid badger/boar in Mesquite
    Post - Alum

Wow! It's after midnight already?! Time warping again. I sat down over two hours ago, started my daily post here, then got busy on something else and just realized I didn't post anything. Old age is really a pain in the behind sometimes.

Well, one more night with the Kai Captain and Feather Pro. It's TABAC TUESDAY......or it was when I shaved so that counts. Tabac and my second hybrid knot in mesquite from
@Joewa . I definitely love these brushes. Great density and feel and I need to give them more opportunities. The shave went well. Three passes with no worries other than a little heat from the alum on my neck. I had the angle a little high on the final pass there trying to avoid touch ups. So I'm not surprised.

It's already Wednesday so Happy Hump Day! Hope it's a great one.
