Looking good, Mark! Thanks, Tim! If I remember correctly the maker of the brush named it Sunrise Glow. The lower part of the handle actually glows in the dark. It was Jason @jtspartan that started calling it Lemondrop and it stuck. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Thanks, Joe! The Famex is a French Cage Head razor(1920s-1930s) which unlike the Le Coq was adjustable. Tightening or loosening the handle increases or decreases the efficiency of the shave.
Yes, in fact actually I dip the synthetic one frequently, it is not actually holding water. It's also a big knot which helps.
Thanks, Andrew; it never fails, although I need to pay attention as it can bite if my attention wanders.
This was my Wednesday shave I forgot to post last night. Had to try the new Astra blues out and must say I was very impressed. Smoooth and sharp! The Fine Platinum is a wonderful performing soap which lathered beautifully with the JR 241 gunslinger. If I only owned 1 DE I would pick the Rockwell 6c. Top knotch razor in my book. To complete this shave I added a splash of the Chatillion Lux Unconditional Surrender. That stuff was worth every penny!
Just the Basics June Thursday's Shave Eversharp Schick J1 Personna Blade WCS Beacon Synthetic Arko Lucky Tiger Aftershave and Face Tonic Yesterday's shave unfortunately resulted in some tenderness and razor rash later appearing on my lower neck. I attribute that to the XTG pass there with a brand new GEM PTFE blade and possibly too much pressure used with the mild Contour razor. Oh well. After tomorrow, the irritation will be gone, and fortunately no more ingrown hairs appeared. Today's shave felt excellent with the trusty creamy lather from Arko and the mild J1 razor. 2.5 passes for a DFS+ result. I only went WTG twice on the lower neck area and the half pass was an additional clean up across the jawline (neck brace lather pass). The Lucky Tiger feels so nice after a shave and was a product I bought early in my switch to traditional wet shaving. Great stuff.
