Aftershave: Stirling Arkadia

The DG Trismegistus acquisition was my first full size tub from Declaration Grooming. I had previously obtained a sample size of Declaration Grooming/Chatillon Lux Gratiot Leaque Square. Therefore, a couple of years ago I requested a full size tub of GLS for my birthday. Unfortunately or not, GLS must not have been available so my wife picked up a tub of Trismegistus instead. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the scent of this soap. It is one of my favorites.
For this morning’s shave I decided to try something a little different. Usually, I pair this soap with CL Bon Vivant which works fabulously. Since I have been encountering some difficulty obtaining the DG Trismegistus splash, I decided to obtain a sample of Stirling’s Arkadia, which is inspired by Terre d'Hermes, to match the soap. Perfection!
A three pass shave, performed by the JR Torrey, ended up smooth as silk. My face is ultra smooth, with constant subtle whiffs of this fabulous scent offered up by both the soap and splash.
Gentlemen, there will be an encore tomorrow as I am keeping with the Gemini shave theme of the month.
Now I need to get on with my day. It is time to prep for my son’s second family birthday party courtesy of this pandemic. Instead of one big party two weeks ago, we had to split the family.
On the agenda today:
Make sauce for the Stromboli.
Make rub for the ribs.
Prep ribs
Prep and marinade beef tenderloin.
No big deal. I love to cook. Actually, my family has stated that I have missed my calling. They believe I would have made a great chef. Who knows, retirement from teaching is now around the corner. Perhaps I may do some catering.
