  1. Thank you, Joe! :D

Crud! I hadn't thought of that. I like to make Sundays special by giving them my very best, and I'm definitely a better DE shaver than I am a blade forward shaver. But 100...

Gonna be up all night trying to solve this one!

  4. Saturday shave and continuing with items that were iconic when I started traditional shaving. Today's past icon is a British cream, popular when I started but they don't seem to get much love these days. DR Harris Arlinton has good performance and I love the British cologne scent, perfect for the summer. Simpson brushes were iconic when I started but not the Tulip handles, even now they Tulip handles are not 'in' but the Tulip and Polo handles are my favorite.

Today's razor a Saito SK-3 wasn't iconic then nor now but to me it is THE smiling razor. An amazing thin grind for a smiling razor, the steel is excellent too. She is a pleasure to use and delivered and excellent shave today.

  6. Just for blades! You and Jim @jluc make me feel much better since my den reduction! I use 5 different DE blades (Suneko, Polsilver, Wizamet, Sharp Star and Feather), Schick Proline B-20 ( Injectors and Ronson) and Schick Proline (P-30) and Feather Supers for my three AC razors. I’m now down to about 40 razors. My goal is to reduce down to a core 7 safety razors.
  7. Keith:
I always enjoy your posts for both the entertaining summaries and the quality of kit displayed. And yes, it does look like your razor’s smiling!

    Good morning!

New razor up for today. Haircut&Shave Co. PO76 17-4. Beautiful razor. The level of shine is amazing. Aji does the polishing himself and he's good at it. The only visible machine marks are in the recesses of the top cap. The head itself is super thin making it a breeze to shave under the nose. The handle is grippy and comfortable, slightly concave at the bottom providing a place to rest my pinky.

The amount of blade feel was unexpected. I guess I had in my head that in would be more like the NO75 which has little to no blade feel. The PO76 never felt as if it wanted to bite and didn't feel harsh but I did feel the need to pay attention. Three passes for near BBS. I was curious to hear what the alum had to say about the shave. Upon application total silence but as I was cleaning up I felt a light tingle in the hollows of my neck. All in all a terrific, near perfect first shave with my new razor.

    Have a great day! [IMG]

  15. Quite the good shave this morning. Time to bring out the chilly stuff, through next Wednesday anyway. O:25 to load the Jayaruh #59. Solid spread motion with the Razorock Lime Burst soap. Just over the upper lip, I did south-north and reversed to north-south. That may well be a mid-month focus. I did it that way there for each pass. 2 good passes, by the way. One weeper, no cuts. Fine form from the Y-formation over the neck. Another niiiiiiice feel from the Stoylin Glacial Lime A.S. Super-Duper Excellent.
