I think I would have to agree. Small world. This coming year will be my final year unless life throws a major knuckleball. I think 41 years should be enough.
I didn't. I honestly never noticed the glue when I opened the wrapper. Maybe it was due to my excitement to try them.
I strop my razors the night before and sometimes I will strop a couple of razors at one time. Stropping is not my favorite activity but it is worth it for the shave. I have to agree that is the nicest OS decanter I have ever seen. You need the apron to say King of the Grill, you look the King of the Grill! Bonus points for wearing your dad's watch.
Monday wraps up my shaving with items that were 'in' when I started traditional shaving. Today's soap was a controversial then as it is now, Arko! I think it smells like Lemon Pledge but other think it smells like a urinal puck. No one says anything bad about the performance other than leaving your skin a bit dry. The brush is Whipped Dog in a Firehouse Pottery handle. Back in the day the only source for cheap badger brushes was Whipped Dog and this brush is a nice one. The razor is a an early minted Cobra Classic. It started the Feather AC crazy many people hated on this razor in the early days and many people loved it. People even named razors Mongoose thinking they were killing the Cobra. The Cobra's demise was they could not maintain the quality nor production. For me it is the best AC based razor. And Clubman for the finish. In the early days we did not know about the 'Piggly Wiggly Effect' so it was popular and people rarely talked trash about it. Me, I am not to proud to draw attention walking the aisles of Piggly Wiggly and wear the Clubman proudly. The shave was epic. Tuesday I wanted to give the Valet Autosrop another go. I was also curious if the Feather blade would be good for a second shave, the purveyors of the One Blade claim one and done for the blade. It is getting hot so the Lemon Chill Stirling was a nice way to start the day. The Autosrop delivered again and it looks like the Feather blade is good for at least two shave, good thing given how price these blades are. the shave was excellent.
Great report Keith!! I'm not smitten with the scent of Arko but it sure does what its supposed to and does it well. Thanks for giving someone relatively new like me some insight into what it was like in the days before we got spoiled with the fancy soaps and new brushes. I enjoyed reading your posts this past week.

June 23, 2020 Supply Co SE V3 Proline Shavemac Synthetic Mike’s Orange Cedarwood & Black Pepper Fine Italian Citrus A repeat shave from yesterday. The Shavemac ate through the Mike's OC&BP whipping up a wonderful rich lather. It was still a little thick during the first pass. I should have added more water. Three passes and touch ups ended in a drama free BBS shave. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.
