  3. Great advice, Blair, thanks! You’re spot on! It’s definitely not fun, but I’m determined to master the danged thing before I put it away for good.

  7. I keep checking on a daily basis. I have been avoiding other temptations just to purchase the SV soap and splash. Just today I discovered that Semogue has a new SOC brush in butterscotch along with several new handle and knot combinations.

  9. Thanks, Clint, I will! But I know that when I know I can do it, I’ll be able to comfortably put it away! Do you remember the final scene in Quigley down under when Selleck ends up outdrawing the Australian rancher in a six gun duel after mentioning earlier in the movie when queried why the great rifleman wasn’t wearing a sixgun, stated, “ I said I didn’t care for them, never said I didn’t know how to use one!”
  10. For some reason I thought you said last week you were holding off on it. I must have misunderstood. You are a Vetiver fan, so this should be right up your alley.

  11. Thanks, Joe, you're very kind! I agree, but frankly, I am now just shooting for proficiency. When I feel I'm there, I’ll probably PIF the razor to someone who will appreciate it more than me.

  15. I do remember that line from the movie. I admire the people that take the time to learn straights. I get such good shaves with my other razors, I have just never considered picking one up.

  20. Your solution and progress, given your determination....you will get there. Might need to define in your mind where ‘there’ is. CCS, near DFS is nothing shabby at all.

@Keithmax said awhile ago, straight razor users are OCD in nature, as there’s lots of tedium involved. With straight razor shaving (and being an aging percussionist at heart, as well as my photography), I’ll fit that mold....but rarely do with most other day to day things. There’s not enough time to extend OCD to anything else! :sad038: :happy102:
