thank you Tim.a new one to me as well.i was given an nos simplex travel razor a long while back,came with a short gillette ball end handle.well i found this military set that was missing the cap.so it just showed up today.now i have a complete military set and a spare base plate..first shave was great..

I'm not doing a rule this month but I had to show the Russian blade cartel some love with today's shave. @NCoxSTL should be proud. I lathered up some Arko with a boar brush that showed up without me ordering it. It's so stiff it almost hurts and I've broken it in for months. The most Russian soap and brush I have. Then I used a Soviet era de razor with the guards clipped off and yesterday's new Sharp Star blade. This razor was scary and it drew blood Everytime I used it until I cut off the guards. Now that it's more dangerous it's more comfortable to shave with. I then followed up with a thick super menthol aftershave cream with Cyrillic labeling. It's probably 75% alcohol and 23% menthol with the remaining 2% being vitamin oil and thickener. It's intense. The weather today was in the upper 80s and I spent the day loading furniture into a big unairconditioned truck. My face stayed cold for at least an hour or 2. Painfully cold. My fealty is thus shown to the Russian blade cartel. Before they end of the month I'll give a nod to the Japanese blade Yakuza and pull out my feather kamasori clone. Carry on.
