Wonderful pics and lather, Joseph I wonder what causes the "chunky soup" effect. Reminds me a bit of Joe's @Trigger struggle with his Cryogen.
June 26 DE Day Gear Razor: The Slim Jim (9) Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (1)--5 or so years ago I read a glowing review of these by The Leisure Guy. I endorse that review. They make me break out into poorly written haiku: Dark, jagged peak bound In iridium smoothness Of the glassy lakeCould be worse--some days I break out into song Brush: Semogue Boar Soap: Stirling Texas on Fire prepared and chilled with ice water, 6 Frost Drops added--like a campfire on a brisk mountain morning Menthol: Stirling Frost Drops AS: Clubman Original (1 Frost Drop) Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented The Shave I thought I’d push myself and shoot for a 2 pass shave, XTG/XTG, no half pass, minimal touch ups only, and just take whatever I ended up with. BBS. I ended up with a BBS shave. Still trying to wrap my head around that. I attribute part of it to the 2nd pass where some of the strokes fell somewhere in between XTG and ATG. I partially cheated there. The other part I attribute to the Polsilver Super Iridium blade. It really is a fantastic blade. Joseph’s @Primotenore focus inspired me to actually use these blades instead of sitting on my tuck like a dragon hoarding a treasure that it will never truly use or enjoy. I suppose that goes with any cherished shave items: just use the darned things--whatever they are. You made it, everybody--happy Friday!
thank you Tim.it appears less drying on the post face feel than tobs sandalwood.was very slick..but i may have just built a wetter lather.
Yes!!! Fantastic ahave Tim! Slim adjustable on setting 9 is the only way to go. I have a Semogue Badger and I find it ok. How is the Semogue boar? If you have an Onega boar, then how does it compare to your Semogue?
Sorry for my absence but I'm doing so rearranging in the house again. Here's Wednesday's shave and today's. Had to finally bin the first Astra blue . Man I will miss that blade ...sigh.
