  1. That is one beautiful razor Blair. I hope you have many enjoyable shaves with it.
  2. This is Houston Control, “Reentry is a go!”
  3. Bravo Joe.
  4. These events have always lead to positive change for me, I am confident it will be for you too. One door closes another door or doors open.
  5. Jospeh, I have both, vintage and modern and strongly prefer the modern. The vintage is ‘heavier’, not as fresh and the weakening to the top notes takes away its summer appeal.
  6. For the same reasons I prefer bigger, heavier blades. I find fine running the angle is easier with big razor, with a small razor a tiny change in the distance between your face and the spine makes a big change in the cutting angle.
  7. Very nice looking shave.

  9. Stropping can be a form of therapy. Nice and slow, in your own little world for about 2-3 minutes. Nothing wrong with that.
  10. Thank you, Jim! It’s been a good three years.

  14. Both you gentleman are highly experienced open edge shavers. Could one (@b1hart) of you explain to me the difference between Feather SS razors and Feather DX razors?
  15. Dang it, Gary, where do you keep coming up with these beautiful Gillettes?
  16. Thanks for clarifying for me Blair. I have very thick, wiry, old man whiskers, which is why I loade a Feather Super into my new-to-me, Feather SS straight razor for tomorrow’s shave.
  17. Thanks, Joe, tomorrow I’ll be using my new Feather SS straight barber’s razor with a Feather Super blade. I’m starting to enjoy this open edge shaving, and like having a razor I don’t ever have to strop or maintain.
  18. Unless you’re an old fart with rheumatoid arthritis who’s been meditating for 45 years. Stropping and honing hold no appeal for me.
  19. Thanks, Keith, really makes sense to this old retired applied mathematician.
  20. Band is going to be.....interesting. Understatement of the year for our now.....high school senior :shocked003::shocked003::shocked003:
