Thanks, Clint! Have you tried it? I’m fortunate that my son wanted the Kamisori DX. He isn’t interested in shaving with western straights anymore. Go figure! I’m the one that made out. Have a great day!

No I have not tried it. I really don't want to take the time or effort to learn to shave with a shavette or straight now. My attitude mind change in the future.

Great shave report! I noticed Jim (@jluc) referred to you as Bruce. Nice to meet you during Imperial Shave month. I’m Jeff. Great green themed photo. Enjoy your day!

    BAUME.BE Shaving Cream
@jtspartan Blue Resin Maple handle w/TGN 28mm Silvertip
    Feather AC DX (kamisori style)
    Feather Super Pro
Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements - Star Jelly ASB
    Nautica EdT - Voyage

@Primotenore inspired purchase of an awesome shaving cream, BAUME.BE. Combined a smidgeon with this super soft 28mm TGN silvertip, a slight bit of hydration....created a wondrous silky slick lather using Jason's BRM handle. Between bowl and face lathering....sublime face feel, plenty of residual slick in between passes. Wanted to join with @jgreenepa today using my Feather AC DX, loaded with a fresh Feather Pro Super blade. For those not familiar, I've removed the scales on the DX, and wrapped the handle with black/red leather cord, making it 'kamisori style'. 2 passes, super skin stretching, BBS results. Not without error though, this fresh Feather blade is unforgiving. One set down error at the base of my nose, one blemish unknowingly obliterated on my neck. No biggie, quick run down with an alum block and all is well again. Quick light application of PAA's slightly mentholated Star Jelly, followed with Nautica's Voyage EdT...ready for Wednesday.

Hope everyone has a Happy Hump Day!

At least, if you were to start, your SWMBO seems much more favorably disposed towards our hobby than mine! That's a definite advantage. I think if I were to start over I’d do so with a Feather Barber’s Razor instead of the Dovo. :angelic007: Come on in, my friend, the water’s just fine! :D

Wonderful photo, and awesome soap choice for this July, Perry! I forgot all about that Lather Catcher--fantastic razor, sir. And I'm a huge fan of the Kong synthetic. I gave mine to my sister who took up wet shaving a couple months ago, and was thrilled to see that Stirling has it back for sale on their website :D

Awesome shave, report, and gear, Joe! Coconut and Lime is fantastic stuff. Super cool about the mini-meet up of the Joes :D

Blair, I hope you don’t mind, but I sent a pic of your handle modification to my son, Ben who just began shaving with his new Kamisori DX, after several years with the SS Kamisori model, now in my possession along with the western version. My son is encouraging me to use the Kamisori to shave my head saying that’s what Buddhist monks used. If I ever try an open edge on the dome, itkll be pretty far down the line. Great shave report and photo!
