  1. fine shave Paul,good morning..
  2. Thanks Gary....y'know if it wasn't Throwback Thursday today, I'd have gone with Stoylin Glacial Lime for the aftershave. Quite warm today. There'll be plenty days ahead for that Glacial goodness, though.
  3. Very nice shave Blair! The smiling DD straight is a real beauty. I don't own a uber smiler. As Joe was showing me his smiling Drew Dick, I asked him if it was difficult to shave with it. I can only imagine that you have to be a little more conscious of where to place the blade on your face.
  4. Fabulous photo and recap Blair.

  7. I agree. He is very knowledgeable about straight razor technique and has a very good reputation honing his razors. I am Italian descent so I do understand his middle class mannerisms and speech patterns.
  8. Thank you Jeff. Today should be a short day.

  15. Fully agree on the narrow sweet spot. Certainly not a deal-breaker. This is one razor that took a little bit to dial in. Normally I take fairly fast, long strokes. Recently I discovered that short, almost buffing-like strokes yield the best results when using the Sabre. I may have to try the same thing with other razors, just to see what the results are. Science, you know....

Does the L2 plate have the similar narrow sweet spot, or is there more "wiggle room"?

BTW - awesome photo and setup today. You always rock the SOTDs.
  16. Thank you, Joseph! Dunno about all that, though. I muddled my way through it. There are far better in this thread at the multi-quote thing.
  17. Man...I love the TNNSR in clear. Might have to break down someday and get one to go along with my green one.
    Well done, sir.
  18. Nice.

Pulled out the Cubebe and Zenith for the Italian ‘Emperor’ theme. I shaved mid morning yesterday, so it had only been about 20 hours since my last shave. 2 passes (XTG,XTG) seemed like enough and it was. Everything worked as it should and I am smooth enough for a 2 pass’er. Love the Cubebe scent.
    Have a great day all!
