Nancy Boy Shave Cream & After Shave Balm - Signature
Heritage Collection Klenzo w/Omega EVO synthetic
Drew Dick Damascus Steel w/green kirinite scales
Giorgio Armani - Acqua Di Gio
Wanted to use the Nancy Boy shave cream the day after using the BAUME.BE, to give a short comparison. Both are very soft creams, and barely a brush tip dip gets more than enough on the brush to produce mounds of lather with very little hydration. I should probably add a dedicated measuring spoon in my arsenal to accurately measure...otherwise these two wonderful creams will empty too fast (and the BAUME.BE in cream form is near unobtainium). The Nancy Boy when lathered with our water supply (very hard), is extremely similar to the lather from BAUME.BE. Both produce a super rich, slick and thick, easily a sour cream or yogurt texture depending on your hydration level. Face lathered or painted on, the face feel is very nice. Both have a very subdued unobtrusive pleasant aroma. The Nancy Boy leans towards a citrus 'bright' aroma, very clean. The BAUME.BE cream is light lemony almost with a hint of peppery 'musk' to my nose. These two creams aren't jump out at you aromas, it's more stick your nose a 1/4 inch away. The lather's residual face feel in between passes....both are supremely nice, buffing is no issue. Easily in the category of the soaps, croaps or creams seen daily in the 30DC. Nancy Boy's residual face feel at the end of the shave is slightly 'thicker' to me, but that could be my hydration level. More use needed. Both are products I'll replace for face scraping with an open edge blade.
Today's shave was 2.5 passes, DFS+ results. Both the Klenzo w/an Omega EVO knot, and the Drew Dick smiling damascus blade worked admirably. I did mistakenly reopen the under nose set down weeper from yesterday....argh. Vanished with a light rub from the alum. Finishing the morning ritual was the matching ASB from Nancy Boy, followed with a some neck coverage of the Acqua Di Gio.
Can't believe it's Thursday already. Hope everyone's day is a great one!
