    I too, found the CVS blades to be smoother shavers from the start. It's been a while, but I seem to recall the SS Gems smoothing out a bit after the 2nd or 3rd shave. I got sucked into all the stropping hype and was convinced that I'd make a blade last a month. I'm pretty sure I actually decreased its life span with my less-than-stellar stropping :happy102:
