Thanks, Tim, I appreciate the thoughts, but tomorrow the rubber hits the road. It’s Feather Kamisori time!
Thanks, Bill! I’m shaving with the Feather SS Kamisori my son gifted me. I’ll be using a Kai Pink Mild at his suggestion. I donkt own any of Proguards. I’ll look into it.
They are good blades, but they’re not magic. They are a quality St Pete’s blade (way back they were Polish, check out Joseph’s posts on them). If you like blades like PermaSharps or Nacets, you’d like Polsilvers. They were rumoured to be discontinued for a few years, which helped their prices to rise. I bought some from this site https://www.polsilver-blades.com/ 3-4 years ago. They were a fraction of the cost they are now. The prices now are outrageous. It appears the rumours of their discontinuation may actually be true this time.
Excellent shave Tim. Straights and shavettes offer me a degree of concentration and self satisfaction that surpasses that of a DE shave. Well done!
Lovely shave report with the usual high end interesting kit, Maestro! An OT is a great shaver. Yours looks to be in excellent condition. Hope your day went well!
July 2 SOTN Good evening guys! Straight Shave #185 Ralf Aust 6/8 Full Hollow Sp Pt Bk Scales Omega Pro 49 Boar Brush Stirling Piacenza SS and AS I decided to forego shaving tomorrow because I will be needing a quick, mindless shave Sat morning. I have a picnic to attend and so a DE shave on the 4th will suffice. So tonight, I brought out one of my Austs and some of my gear that says that's Italian. The brush really does a great job and the Stirling soap performed it's usual bestm Ever since I poured the matching aftershave in the soap, the wonderful scent has been resurrected. 2.5 passes gave me a wonderful BBS shave that will almost pass the cotton ball test. Splashed the aftershave and I am very satisfied with this shave. So tomorrow will be a no shave day for me and I will use my Model T on the 4th because it sounds so appropriate. Have a good evening guys!
