    Thanks, Clint! Despite all the brouhaha about my open edge shaving adventures, I’ll never be a straight razor guy like the two Long Island Joes and Keith. I just enjoy shaving with my safety razors too much, and really like being able to achieve a VBBS every day! Strapping on the forearm weights is getting old. Settling for a lesser shave, which is part and parcel of straight shaving, just isn’t in my DNA. I’m beginning to feel more comfortable with the method. Besides, my son Ben has his eyes on the Dovo Special in the drawer. I expect I’ll get this out of my system in a few weeks. Ben knows his old man! He’ll get all 4 of his straights (2 Feathers + 2 Customs) back, plus the two customs he assured his wife were for ‘me’! My son is a clear master of the art of SWMBO mgmt.

    Thank you, Joe! The 2 Aust razors in my den were my earlier pickups in my straight razor journey. They are excellent razors. The other Aust is also a 6/8 SP Pt but with cocobolo scales. I bought it used and recently honed it and it also does a great job mowing the face lawn.

    I do need the weights for every straight shave. We’ll have to see about more straight razors for me in the future. Thus far, I haven’t invested a dime in this straight shaving journey. I did enjoy the Kamisori shave, but I do enjoy shaving with my many safety razors without weighted forearms. Those two custom Damascus Straights my son bought ‘me’ were actually for him as he recently confessed to me. Just some effective SWMBO mgmt on his part.
