    Good morning!

Up very early this morning. Ten pound pork shoulder has been on the smoker for about four hours now, at least another six hours to go. I also have some pork belly on the smoker. I'll use that as a garnish for the baked beans.

Oh, and I shaved. Three passes with the wide open Ambassador. Near BBS, nearly silent alum.

    Happy Independence Day!

I had the audacity to post this on another forum: (paraphrasing) "If Stirling changed their name, put their product in a more expensive, fancy container and raised their prices by 200%, we all be reading how this product was the be all and end all artisan soap". ONE (1) poster agreed, but mostly I heard...crickets.

Five or six years ago Stirling had some type of clay or something in the soap base that I didn't like at all. The soap base now is fantastic. The limited edition R4L soap and splash had a very complex scent profile that rivaled the best I have experienced from any maker. Having said that Stirling scents are very hit and miss for me compared to other makers. The price of roughly $14 is fantastic but there are other makers in that space with an equally good soap base and better scents to my nose. I do want to get one of the Stirling Glacial soaps before next summer and give it a try.
