Riding the cap is to prevent cuts. I find the riding that bar is more efficient. However, I don't always consciously look where I place my DE because I just shave.

Excellent report--even if the the shave was only rather so. Is it possible to overcome the thinning out by using a bit less water?

went to the store today to make my 1st batch of homemade bay rum aftershave. got everything made now just need to wait a few weeks before it is done. went heavy on the bay leaf so this batch might be a little more fresher than others. had to opt out on buying real rum because im not 21 so i used rubbing alcohol and rum extract. hopefully that will work.
