July 7 SOTD Good morning guys! Shavette Shave #173 Parker SRB Rockwell 1/2 DE Blade (3) Semogue OC Super Badger Razorock Classic SS Old Spice P/G AS I don't always mention it but I use my brush to wet my face. It kills 2 birds with one stone because I release the excess water onto my face. I load the soap on the pasty side and then paint my face and do some circular strokes, too. I have a cup full of water and just touch the surface with the tips and continue to do so until I have a nice lather. I might add more soap on my second pass. However, I find that this method produces a nice, slick and thinner lather and makes a disposable or traditional straight razor glide much more easier on my face. Now with a DE, I make my lathers much more thicker. The Razorock Classic has that almond/cherry scent that I like very much. It is easy to lather and it is a great value. At the time, I bought it for just under 5 dollars. I had a 41 hr lawn to mow and I could have finished with one pass to have a DFS. However, I am a 2 to 2.5 pass shaver so I continued with my normal routine. With 2.5 passes, I got a BBS shave without any errors. Gave myself a double portion of the Old Spice and there wasn't any burn. My skin feels great and I smell great! It is one of my best shaves in awhile. Have a fantastic day, guys!
Great shave Jim. I am surprised the steep angle worked with the Rocnel. I will have to try it with other DE's as well.
Thanks, Clint! I'll be experimenting with a steep angle on all my razors going forward. I would have never guessed it works as well as it does. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Nice gear, pic and an Alabama awesome shave, Perry! We haven't heard from your fellow Alabama shaver Danny @Hembree in 3 months. Hope he is ok.
I will be experimenting and keeping notes as well. I bet the Timeless will really benefit from a steeper angle.
