  1. Too awesome, Patrick--shave, gear, report, the Gentleman (as well as the gentleman's library), and the brush. All of it too, too awesome!:D

  5. Very, Very nice, Joseph! The lather looks amazing! :D
  6. As a recipient of one such generous PIF I can easily attest to how awesome SC is. If you haven't tried Soap Commander before, this is the perfect opportunity--great stuff! :D

  8. Thank you, Tim! Although most of my shavette shaves have been with the Dovo, I like the Parker just a tad more. The Dovo helps me maintain a soft touch, but the Parker looks and shaves almost like a regular straight. Also, the geometry of the Parker makes it difficult to cut yourself. Finally, the lavender scent and lather of Music City Suds is really awesome.
  9. Thank you, Gary! :D

  12. A huge Osiris blade and a Darwin Drake brush, oh year fit for an emperor.

Honored I could be of service.
  13. No pic Thursday shave: I woke a little late and was feeling groggy so I took my own advice, I put down the straight and picked up a DE. I dropped a Rapira Swedish steel blade into the Janus Toggle, whipped up some chilly Sterling Glacial Lemon with a Thäter brush. The chill from the Sterling helped wake me up and had the Janus wide open for the first three passes. Turned it down to 7 for the ATG and was good to go, an excellent shave. Upon further reflection it was epic. A couple spritz of Creed Aventus and out the door smelling like a fruit salad with lots of pineapple.

  14. Thanks for the nice comments gentlemen!

@timabababaluka Made me go read up on my Norse mythology Tim. Valhalla it is. ;)
  15. Thanks Keith!
  16. July 9th
    Razor: Rocnel Elite 2019LE A
    Blade: Astra SS (3)
Brush: Grizzly Bay Biblical/TnS gelled Shoat boar
    Pre-shave: PAA Rabid Banana Cube
    Soap: Stirling Bergamot Lavender
    Thayers Lavender witch hazel
    Stirling Glacial balm
    AS: Stirling Bergamot Lavender

    Good morning!

Awesome shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Silent alum.

The new boar knot is getting better. I had enough lather for three passes but just barely. I think this is the first time using this brush that I didn't have to return to the puck for additional soap.

    Have a great day!

  17. The wood heats you twice, during the split and then in the winter for the actual burn. It is known. Thanks Chris.
  18. Excellent shave Jim. Bergamot Lavender is some quality stuff. I will be letting it out of the den once I finish JustOneJuly.
  19. I agree with the above assessment.
  20. Thank you, Joe!
