Had to raise my scale game with all of these recent beauties...
Wostenholm & Son’s Superb Pipe razor

These scales are in great shape, and a wonderful survivor of a blade. A little larger than my other pipe razors, at right around 13/16”.

One of those nice surprises when it actually shows up. Don’t remember having to do much more than blow some dust off.

    Beautiful BB Keith.

This Pipe was today’s choice in the ongoing 5/8 and 11/16 rotation. A little more touch up than I’d have liked, probably needs a refresh. :happy088:

9/8 Wosty hollow sporting a super smooth coti edge on loan from a friend. Cream was AoS Ocean Kelp and a little SMN Lavanda topped off a super smooth shave.

Shave #133 yesterday morning on the Sub Cero 14 and the edge is good, and equals the number Alfredo got from his TI, so his result is not a fluke. I had previously posted that the edge is actually improving a bit over #125-127. I did some things differently, mostly to test the efficacy of fabrics and strops on an edge that appeared to be declining. Most likely the increased smoothness/performance is due to simply doubling the fabric from 20 to 40 each shave. I did switch to Latvian linen and a roo strop to see if more flexible products made a difference. Maybe, but the conventional wisdom is that the type of fabric and leather don’t make that much difference, but the thinness of the linen and leather I’m currently using has advocates. There’s something going on, again, likely just increased linen.

I thought about stopping around #128, the edge didn’t seem to have much left in it and just flogging a few more shaves from it to exceed Alfredo’s number seemed like a ‘little’ thing to do with little relevance to maintaining an edge for many shaves. But I got a PM from Alfredo that simply said ‘Keep it going’, so that’s what I’m going to do. Thank you Alfredo!

Post-shave stropping was 40 Latvian linen and 80 roo.

That is a hunk of Wosty Steve... very cool blade.

TI Dominator for me. First go with this cream... wanted to try for a while. Not a bad first go.

Salt and pepper Swede with an ivory complexion and curves in all the right places. Ms. Tornblom enjoys wildflowers, floral arrangements and stars in the night. One of her guilty pleasures is a luxurious badger in French Ivory.
We had a lovely time today and she wants to see me again... soon.
