  1. fine shave Joe,good morning..
  2. Congrats on your swap! I think you got the better end of the deal. Great shave, Jeff! Your experience with an improved DE shave after straight shaving us quite normal. It's not only the difference in using a lighter pressure, but skin stretching is also an important piece. Most safety razor shavers don't skin stretch because they allow the bar to do it. So, when they do because of straightshaving, they get better shaves.
  3. Thanks Clint! Right back at you!

  4. It really isn't necessary, but the less time I prepare my gear for the shave, then the better it is for me. My soap has a large circle of death so I am trying to use it all up. Leaving the water to bloom overnight releases more soap and gives a better preshave. Also, I strop my razor the night before so that it is also ready the following morning.
  5. Thank you and good morning to you, Gary!
  6. Thank you, Andrew and Joe!

  9. My next "summer experiment shave" will be ALL Clubman....shaving cream, followed up with the original A.S. To top it off(or actually to "get everything started)"I'll be shampooing in the shower with the Clubman Country Club. Lovely details for your viewing pleasure, right Clint? :))
  10. Lavender at its best.

  18. Awesome shave and report, Bruce. While I prefer to take my time with a shave, I always appreciate being able to crank out an awesome shave in very little time when I'm in a rush. Which you did :D

Love the finish on that Rockwell, btw. I don't know about longevity, but as to performance, I found Rubies to be well above average. Nice and sharp, but very smooth. If I had half a brain at all, I would have pushed that blade and stretched every shave out of it that I could. Perhaps I'll experiment a bit with my next one.
  19. Thank you, Myles! Hope you and your household are doing well, sir! :D
  20. Thank you, Gary!:D
