  4. Amen, brother! Can't imagine how up-in-the-air things must be with a music program. We always adept, but it isn't always a picnic doing it--best of luck to you, Perry. If anyone can pull it off, it's you :)

  6. Thanks guys. The last few days have been difficult, but things are slowly getting better. We expect a several-month recovery due to some unforeseen complications. We're staying in Rochester a few extra days to ensure my Bride is up to the drive home. Even with an overnight stop, it could be a challenge. We plan to return in mid-August for follow-up testing. At that point, we'll be under the care of our docs at home.

We're humbled and blessed by the quality of care and the kindness of everyone at Mayo and in Rochester. It is a wonderful place.

  8. Thank you.

    Thanks, Jason.
    It is.

    ROFLMAO.
  9. Thank you Tim. I now have 17 straights with two more on the way. One helluva rabbit hole.
  10. Thanks, Tim! Normally, I like to take my time as well. Some mornings call for a speed shave, and that was one of them. Just as good of a shave as one that takes longer.

The Rockwell is the standard stainless finish. Some folks don't care for the industrial bead-blasted look. Myself - I'm a fan. A number of my other razors have similar finishes (machined, unpolished, etc.). The fully polished razors look great in SOTD's - so long as it's someone else's SOTD photo. Not that I'm over-the-top anal retentive, but the small scratches that appear on polished finishes would drive me nuts. Even taking good care of your gear, they'll most likely show up over time.

I have one more Rubie, which I'll try sometime (probably soon-ish). If it does as well as this one, it could easily result in a bulk purchase, and possibly become the go-to blade. I even think they're better than the GSBs.
