  2. Perry, if there was a Coronavirus spread during my high school years, in the band, my director probably would have gone to 2 packs a day of cigarettes out of nervousness and anxiety. He did the orchestra, too. I really wish I didn't join the band, as I've said. Not because of the wonderful songs we did, but the personalities of most of the members. I think our director was the tone-setter for that, sadly.
  3. Good post and shave, Paul!
  4. Outstanding pic and fantastic shave Gary! Just looking at the pic lifts me up. I guess the bright red really does it for me. Have a nice day, my friend!

    SOTD SATURDAY, JULY 11, 2020

Today turned out to be Sandalwood, Slim, Straight Saturday to be alliterative. One more day after today of scent freedom before SWMBO returns. So being a nasal barbarian, I decided to pull out all the stops, practically bathe in some of my favorite scents! It’s great; I practically reek, and have no concern for balance or harmony in scent application. I just need to get it out of my system before it’s back to Unscented Purgatory on Monday!

Thw shave went well, DFS++ all around. I used my father’s Gillette Slim opened up all the way for the dome shave and one of the two Custom Damascus straight razors my son gifted me on Father’s Day for the mug. I informed him that the straight razors, and in fact my entire safety razor collection would be returned to him after I leave this realm to make acquaintance with all our dead relatives. I just love it; I feel refreshed, smell like a low rent barbershop with my DFS mug and clean velveteen noggin.

RAZOR: Custom Damascus Straight (Mug), Gillette Slim (Dome)
    BLADE: Suneko (2)
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Rabid Banana Preshave Cube
    BRUSH: Viking Silvertip Badger
CREAM: TOOBS Sandalwood w/ 6 drops of M-Bomb
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with Glyce Glycerin soap followed by Humphreys Lilac WH and Osage Rub. Finished with Royall Lyme AS and Ultimo EdT
  15. Exquisite shave, Joseph! :happy096:

  18. July 11th
    Razor: Carbon Shaving Cx-316L ++
    Blade: Kai Stainless (1)
Brush: Grizzly Bay Biblical/TnS gelled Shoat boar
    Pre-shave: PAA Rabid Banana Cube
    Soap: SC Wisdom
    Thayers Lavender witch hazel
    PAA unscented Star Jelly
    AS: Fine Lavender Pour Homme

    Good morning!

Fantastic shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Just the lightest tickle from the alum in the hollows of my neck.

@Str8on2 did an excellent review of the Carbon CX-Ti++ paired with a Kai blade. While I don't have the Titanium razor, I do have the same razor albeit in 316L Stainless. The Kai added just a bit more blade feel without adding any harshness. Just an awesome shave. The CX-316L++ has quickly found it's way into one of the favorites in the rotation.

Continuing with the boar break in I bowl lathered with the Shoat knot for the first time. I went with SC Wisdom, a Lavender and Peppermint scented soap. My nose only smells the Peppermint. I pressed a good amount of soap into the bottom of my SP Sheet Metal bowl. Too much actually. Enough lather for nine passes. I love the face feel of the gelled boar and I'll probably continue with this lathering method during the break in process.

    Have a great weekend!
