Stirling Sandalwood SS and AS
Today, I decided to do a rare above the shoulder traditional straight shave. I prepared the Engels by stropping on linen, crox, linen and leather. Since I have this razor, this is the first time that I refreshed it. I have to say what a difference in the shave.
I have decided to continue using the Sandalwood until it is gone. The C-Mon brush is a great latherer. It really hasn't disappointed me from day one. The bristles are soft but the brush has backbone. I have come to realize with my brushes that I can't always lather the same way every time. With the C-Mon, I mostly paint and then do circles, but with light pressure. With my synthetics, I use more pressure. Anyway, my lather on my face was really a sight to behold. It was the fine ratio of wet and somewhat thick. The Engels was sharper than it has been so that it was taking off whiskers without much pressure at all. This razor was performing like a first class champ. 2.5 passes on a 27 hr growth gave me a BBS- shave. It's amazing how these 100 yr old razors are still around and shave very well.
The headshave was decent after a few passes, but did get a tiny nick on top of my head, but styptic took care of it. 2.5 passes gave me a nice comfortable shave. It's been awhile since I headshaved with a straight, so I finished with the Schick E3 for the cleanup to give me a BBS headshave. I brushed on tge extra soap on my face and dome to really infuse the scent on my skin. Finished with a generous amount of the Stirling aftershave. Will not shave tomorrow, but the Mad Max Monday Matinee will be showing on my next shave. Have a nice Sat afternoon guys!
