Interesting one... Dandercide Manufacturing Co.’s Rifle Barrel Steel razor out of Oklahoma City.

Quick search shows some patents in the late 1910’s & early 1920’s for hair tonics.

Smaller razor, with the blade length coming in at 2 1/4”. Also has that rounding of the spine that comes down the blade face a little to provide a unique transition.

But it was the “Rifle Barrel Steel” that got my attention... hadn’t seen that before.
    Happy hunting.

Dont get your hopes up, too high. I've seen blades like that, all over the interweb, for $6-$18. They call it a "Damascus Etch". I'm curious, as to the quality of the steel. Glenn will know.

I like this brand. Circa 1867-1906. It shows some good Patina, but very little sign of rust. The scales are solid and straight. I think I will keep the patina, and just scrub it a little with 0000 Steel Wool. An $8 find.

It’s coming in a smidge over 8/8 and should clean up pretty easily.

Edge looks good - only problem is the little “dent” right at the heel, but that seems out of the way.

And I never shy away from a little historical personalization. :)

:love055: Breathtaking - beautiful find and I’m guessing it shaves as good as it looks.

So today's mail brought lots of joy. One that looks like it will clean up very nice, now that I can remove scales. And one I've been looking for for a long time. The kikuboshi is going to be my nephew's first straight. When he saw my straights he said his favorite one was mine and if I ever decided I didn't want mine he wanted it. Since then I have been searching for another one. It finally is in my possession.

I'm still searching for another one so I can have two myself. It's still my favorite razor.

Here are both of the Kikuboshi razors together

Shepherd cast steel stubtail, not the Wolf and Crown Shepherd, but one of the others at 1787 vintage. Metal is in excellent shape, so are the horn scales for 233 years old, but they’re warped and the blade must be guided in. I also have a pair of tortoise scales gifted to me that may get put to use if the horn can’t be straightened.

Fine find - looking forward to hearing how well it shaves with that old steel. It’s a beauty no matter what :happy093:

Very cool razorr. Keep it original. Just remember to guide it in. Or, see if Glenn can straighten them.

I haven't shaved with a straight in over 20 years or more and can't even remember if I liked it or not, but recently decided to try my hand at it again.

Purchased this "shave ready" Grah & Plumacher Black Diamond for a reasonable price, so we will see how it goes.

    Wish me luck.

Btw, if I stop posting it probably means that I bled out on the bathroom floor.[IMG]
