Awesome shave and photo, Jason. Don't know about its performance, but the aesthetic appeal of the scalloped baseplate can't be denied--it's really cool looking! :D

Thanks, Joe! I think I prefer the Genco to the Dovo. I don’t seem to have a problem getting a BBS on either cheek above my jaw. It’s everything below the jar that currently seems to be a bit of a challenge. That will smooth out in time hopefully.

Great shave with an exemplary kit. You’ll never need to acquire an Eclipse Red Ring. The shaves with that plate are almost identical. Great shave, Jason!

Funny you say that, Jason! I think the Barbasol FH is more aggressive, in my opinion. You own one. Your thoughts? I've had the R41 under control for a while. It wouldn’t be in my safety razor rotation if I couldn’t do both head and face shaves. Have a good day!

    Thank you, Gary. Good afternoon!
Thank you, Jason! That's about the usual range for me too. I think when I've gone to 7, it was in a MMOC.

After about 30 min to an hour is the time I can really tell how good/bad of a shave it was.

Only by one razor, although I still have a passel I’m looking to unload.

Thanks, Tim! I've really enjoyed shaving with it. When I first bought a Damaskeene, I was so looking forward to using it. It turned out to be a dud (it was missing the piece that holds the back of the blade in place) and wouldn't shave. So, @twhite Tom saw my frustration and generously volunteered to send me two Damaskeenes to replace my dud purchase. The one I used today is considered a curved cap and the other is a flat cap. Both are great shavers!

I don't try to get BBS on the neck because of irritation. The cheeks definitely need to be BBS. That's why I classify my shaves as IBSS++. Going against the grain on the midneck area is a difficult maneuver that provides too little reward with a great risk. Each shaver decides what is an acceptable shave for them. Some are fine with, SAS, others DFS and so on. My priority is to get a very close, comfortable shave without cuts, nicks, weeps or irritation. If I get it, then it was a great shave for me. I started out trying to get BBS on every shave, but after awhile, the time and the effort to reach it was too much for me, notwithstanding, the irritation and other bits of drama. I would say enjoy your shave, have fun straight shaving and get a close comfortable shave without Nick and his friends knocking on your door.

Thank you, Jeff! I rinse the razor so often that there's not much lather being stored. :D
