    JustOneJuly Shave #17

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Razor Retro Shavette
Blade: Kai Captain Pro Titan Pro Touch MG
Brush: Dogwood Handcrafts 26 mm Tuxedo
    Lather: Razorock Stallion
Aftershave: Wholly Kaw King of Oud
    Additional Care:
    Barbero Alum Block
    Stirling Tea Tree Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Today’s shave featured a new blade in the shavette. This is the first shave ever with a blade with a guard on it. Quite frankly, I was pleasantly surprised by the efficiency and smoothness which the blade performed it’s assigned task. Three passes without any errors, no weepers or nicks to speak of. The alum provided a silent report which is always a positive. My face felt tremendously smooth And refreshed for another day of impersonating Hoke.
  7. Thanks Jeff. She will probably attempt to drive in about two weeks. Regarding the head shave, SWMBO does not care for it. She like a little bit of peach fuzz.
  8. Just wow on the razor and brush. Absolutely stunning!

  9. Awesome shave Blair. I have noticed a few posts from the members of the 30DC that have some challenges with the knots in the Heritage brushes. I wonder why the issue might be?

  11. You can always shave the puck with a box grater then press it into the mug.

  12. Thanks, Ralph, ;)! The AS-D2 is the Feather SS DE razor; it really was the first SS Safety Razor until Tradere.

  13. Thank you, Jeff! Trading or selling was a consideration a little while back. Now that they may become unobtanium permanently, it’ll stay put. I fear I’d regret letting it go. Brian has made some beautiful razors. I’m not digging the latest he’s put out, especially the hollow handles.
  14. Thank you Gary!

Those would be a blast. Too much money going in too many directions right now. Maybe someday, if there’s still an itch to play.

  20. Hard to know. There's so many variables. Tomorrow I'll use the same soap, but a similarly sized synthetic (Simpson Trafalgar T3) and see what the results are.
