@jluc Like the Maestro said, although I don't hear anything when I'm using a feather, then again I'm 73 and wear hearing aids, which I don't always wear when shaving.
Hearing aides(sigh).....my Mom died before these much improved ones came out, which I believe she would have liked much better.
Nice shave, Jim! Congrats on your new toy! I am sure you will get it dialed in to your satisfaction. It's downhill after doing so with your Rex Ambassador.
Sorry about the cuts, Cliff. Maybe it's something in the atmosphere piggybacking on the virus to provide new ports of entry! I had the same experience this morning on my mug shave. The dome shave went well. Hope your day improves.
It's an experiment just for the hell of it for July. I'm progressively working my way up on single settings for 3 or 4 days each using 3 passes, to see if shaves improve and when it gets to be too much for me on 3 passes, switch to 2 passes or back off on the 2nd and third passes. I'd like to get to a repeatable daily BBS++ on head, BBS on face and take what I can get on my neck area, but I rarely achieve better than DFS there without feeling some irritation/redness. I've already proved to myself that I can do just fine at lower settings as I can "buff" without irritation . This will change the way I've beein using the razor. Formerly I started with 3.5, 2.5, 1.5 as who can resist playing with an adjustable. Formerly I sought aggressive and close and quick, now I am seeking the best efficient/comfort/time balance.
I get it, David! As a seeker of the daily VBBS I feel your need! Well good luck on your journey! You'll notice I left two smilies to acknowledge your twin status..I have identical twin granddaughters, teenagers now who used to enjoy seeing if G-Pop could really tell them apart. I never missed!
Yes, technique trump tools! I have learned to use a DE, SE, Shavette, and Straight razors to get excellent shaves because of technique. My razors range from very inexpensive to very expensive ones and it's still about technique. I know that I am repeating myself but, "IT'S TECHNIQUE, TECHNIQUE, TECHNIQUE!"
Great photo accompanied by your usual entertaining posts. Don't forget your bullfight this afternoon!
Nice post and pic Clint! It's unlike you to cut yourself with your razors. You have been on a rare bumpy streak. I am sure you will be back to your smooth shaves minus the cuts in no time. Have a great day!
Bruce, you can expect to see one daily as I work my way to the 100 shave open edge threshold. Hopefully all anatomical appurtenances I entered the world with will be there when I reach the goal, if Covid doesn't get me first.
